I love your videos sir ! My house is 3 bathrooms what would you recommed for value and the best performance?

Thank you! Glad you find the videos helpful. It depends. There is no 'one size fits all' solution. It all depends on what contaminants are in the source water being filtered. What type of water are you trying to filter (well or city)? Have you had it tested? Do you know what contaminants you are dealing with?

Hey! So we have slightly high metals along with something that makes things an orange/ rust color along with hydrogen sulfide. The metal numbers are: cadmium.009ppm, arsenic.003ppm, lead.002ppm Assuming this filter can’t take the metal out. What might you recommend for that or are those readings negligible?

Orange/ rust color is caused by iron, one of the most common well water contaminants. This Springwell system can handle up to 7 PPM iron and 8 PPM hydrogen sulfide (double check your data compared to the spec sheet here bit.ly/3Ch1EWW to confirm it will work for you). What is the water hardness? As for the metals, if hardness needs to be addressed then a water softener should also reduce the cadmium. Lead is very rarely naturally occurring, so its likely coming from the home's plumbing system (pipes or fittings) and is recommended to be treated at the point of use. Lead, Arsenic, and Cadmium will all be reduced with a reverse osmosis system. Here are a couple to look into: Cloud RO geni.us/9ClI8J3 Waterdrop G series geni.us/rQekgwp

Iron is my biggest issue. The landlord doesn’t believe me that it’s out of control and he relies on tester strips like that you’d use for your pool. I had it tested by a contractor who said it’s beyond anything he’s ever seen.

A reverse osmosis filter with 2 or more prefilters [paper and charcoal, prior to the RO filter] will help A LOT. Growonix has great ones with 2:1 and 1:1 bypass. 😎 They're affordable and portable, so you can take it with you when you move. Of course, this is just for drinking water. An all-home set-up will cost you a lot more. I can almost guarantee the landlord won't pay for it.

Test strips aren't the best. While they might indicate the presence of a contaminant, they won't tell you specific concentrations. What concentration did the contractor's test show? What did you landlord have to say when you brought that data to them?

Hello and thank you for the wonderful video. It's very timely as well because I'm needing a whole home filter for well water. I don't see any for ProPur (now ProOne) Whole Home Complete system (5 filters plus softener) and was curious about your thoughts on it. My only trepidation is its 7GPM flow rate.

Hi there, I've not yet tested that system from ProOne so don't have any first hand info for you on it at this point. That said, the first step is to test the water to see what issues are present that need to be addressed? Have you had the well tested by a certified lab?

Thanks for this video. I've been considering this system. We have a sulfur or rotten egg smell issue in our house from our well water. But this filtration system eliminate that smell? Should we flush the system out with a high Clorox concentration before installing it? Thank you in advance.

I have a well, mid levels of iron but my water is hard, there is already a particulate filter and UV light as well as some other filters but they are older and I don’t believe they are working anymore. I’d like to get a new system. It sounds like this one wouldn’t be a good fit. Is there another you recommend?? Thanks.

Hey thanks for your comment! First thing, we always recommend testing before purchasing any treatment equipment. This is especially vital for well water treatment. You could test both before and after your current treatment system, then the data would give you an indication of what's working and what isn't. The system reviewed in this video is a solid choice for treating iron, manganese, hydrogen sulfide and hardness.

Does this do the sediment and uv filtration? I’ve been told wells need sediment and uv filter systems.
@waterfilterguru
6 ай бұрын
It includes a 152 micron spin-down sediment filter, which will address larger particles. But if you have finer sediment in your water, you'll want to consider adding another filter with smaller micron rating. It's always a good idea to have properly sized sediment filter for well water, which serves to protect the downstream equipment. UV is optional, but serves to provide additional protection from microbiological contaminants. If you already have a chemical injection system, it wouldn't be necessary. Springwell offer a UV system as an addon. Learn all about that and the specs here bit.ly/3Ch1EWW When was the last time your well water was tested by a certified lab? What water issues are present that need to be addressed?

I know this is a bit of a different question that might not pertain to your expertise but we have a very high iron content in our irrigation well water system in South Florida and we currently have a tank we fill with chemicals to keep staining down. Do you know of any system with minimal maintenance requirements that might get the same results. I would gladly pay more money to do away with the chemical tank system we currently have. I completely understand if this is not in your wheelhouse. Just thought I’d ask.

An oxidation system like the one mentioned in this video would be a non-chemical solution. That said, it would be highly dependent of the flow requirements and iron concentration.

does this remove nitrates?

No, for nitrates you might want to consider anion exchange or reverse osmosis. What other water issues are present?
