Hello Adam! It's an excellent review as usual. I have not read the book, but it sounds very interesting. As for the movie, even though I grew up seeing Steven Spielberg's films since Jaws (1975), the few scenes I have watched of the BFG on TV give me the same impression (i.e. It seems to be a boring movie!). Thanks for this review. 👍

The movie was my introduction to the story so while it may not be the best it holds a special spot in my heart if that makes any sense

@AdamWrightReviews Thanks for understanding why I like this movie.I will definitely check out the book to see how much I enjoy it, but I'll always enjoy the movie for what it is despite it definitely having problems.

The water sequence in the movie just doesnt work. Not to mention, the giants in not only the book, but the 1989 original film to are terrifying and pure horror. The 2016 ones are just to silly. Spoilers for the original film. The fleshlumpeater swam in water like it was nothing. The way his head peaks out the water looks terrifying. Yet water being the giants fear.... THERES LITERALLY WATER EVERYWHERE IN THIS WORLD. even if theres land underwater. The giants would still not go in anyway. (Well, only if its the 2016 one.

You should remake this video to include the 1989 version. Have you seen it yet?

1989 version is so good. Not as good as the book but better than 2016. I have written many comments to why 1989 is better on other bfg videos. I also wrote a comment on my opinion on this video. 1989 bfg=THE GOAT

@@mrhappytommy5865 I consider the 1989 BFG one of the best adaptations of Dahl’s work. The fact it was one of the only few he actually liked makes me wish it was more well known. While the giants in the book and 1989 movie were goofy, they were still a threat and terrifying. The giants in the 2016 movie are a flipping joke. Shame it was never released in theaters.

@huntercoleman460 yeah, I agree 100%. I could go on for hours to why its better than the remake.

@@mrhappytommy5865 the animation in the 1989 movie is also good. While not on par with Disney or Don Bluth standards of the time, it’s not bad for a TV budget. Also even though I love Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, it’s not a pretty good adaptation of the book. One thing Roald Dahl was infamous for was being very picky when it came to film adaptations of his books. I do wonder of course what he would’ve thought of the adaptations that came out after his death. I think he would’ve hated most of them too.

@huntercoleman460 yes. I personally think bfg is better than WWATCF. It just knew how to be more accurate since the adaptations roahl dahl approves too are clearly well made and accurate enough to his book. I always wonder if Roahl Dahl lived, what would his reaction be to Matilda 1996 and Bfg 2016. I don't think he'd like the 2016. I dunno about Matilda, he possibly would be ok with it since it does match his story well.

@@AdamWrightReviews I consider it one of the best adaptations of Dahl’s work. Roald Dahl even gave it a standing ovation in theaters. This was a big deal because Dahl hated most of the film adaptations of his books primarily Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory and The Witches.

@@AdamWrightReviewsif you watched it. Do you like it? It's so much better than 2016. Atleast in my opinion.
