Hi Robin mate I don’t think you could of asked for a better couple as customers or should I say clients Tony and Mary were such lovely people and so engaged in every step of the garden room and the big build but let’s not forget you in the bigger picture and your skills and expertise in putting forward every aspect of the journey in detail so they understood every step of the way that in its self Robin is a skill in its self I know how you are for attention to detail I have always admired that about you and have always been pushed whilst working around you to do the upmost best in all I’ve done for you only because of your attention to detail it rubs off on you which is only a good thing. It was amazing to be involved from start to nearly finish of the big Build and it looks amazing hats off to you mate catch up soon oh and that roof looks awesome lol 😂 thanks bro

Hi Robin. What an amazing build this was. You and your team took us through a proper journey of a masterclass build. I applaud you for your professional work ethic and not cutting any corners. You are proper old school 😂. Not only were you a great mentor to your apprentice who helped you throughout this build, but you taught your viewers many tips and tricks of the trade. In my next life, I would definitely want to be your apprentice 😂. All the best. Take care. From South Africa

Robin, amazing series of the big build... I enjoyed every single video. Your attention to detail and skills are brilliant... I have learned a lot, in fact have built my own "garden room/workshop" using lots of the materials you use and tips and hints... not ground screws unfortunately (too many tree roots)🙌🏻👏👏👏👏

Project Management is all about relationships and you Robin have the attitude and personality to delivery time and time again. Not to mention your craft of which in the truest sense you are a master craftsman. Your approach attracts this sort of client. To see how projects can be delivered with genuine respect and humility is a real pleasure. Well done to you all and you certainly deserved each other. The result is very visible in the finished product

Great video if everyone that’s thinking of having building work done watches this it would make them more understanding of just how the process of the build work works . And from how Robin explains to the clients his process of undertaking the project is excellent from the very start too upcoming situation to the finished product . The final outcome speaks for itself absolutely perfection and nothing less

If you live in the UK and you want some building work done, who would your dream builder be? A simple answer. Tommy Walsh 😁 In all seriousness, If Robin turned up with his crew, you just know the end result is going to be legal, in spec, and stunning. It's just a shame, he is probably fully booked until 2040.

You got a good run there. Clients like that do not grow on trees. They got a quality build. And everyone, from the sound of it, was happy. Yes it is nice if the customer pays the subbies. Some times that is possible. But in my experience a lot of my customers didn't want to have to deal with tradies. They wanted to work with one person. And for me to sort out everything else. That way I present one invoice at each draw that they have to deal with. Also when building with bank loans. The bank often want everything submitted as one. And pay installments on that. Our threshold for GST(VAT) is pretty low. So most trades are registered. Pretty much impossible to dodge paying it. But as you say it makes your turnover huge. And we have to submit trade accounts at the end of each financial listing every subbie that has worked for you and all the payment details. Nobody ever said building was easy.

My client only deals through me, but they make a payment to the subbies on my instructions and the subbies don't have any financial dealings with the client,

Having lived in japan, both Mainland and Okinawa for 18 years and watched how Japanese view building projects I oftern wonder why people dont just demolish and rebuild places like they do here. Japanese very rarely do house conversion unless its in an area where they are restricted on plot sizes. Does it cost more to convert rather than demolish and start fresh or does the planning department give you more hassel on a new build?
