Looking forward to seeing your adventures. One recommendation - especially when starting out after having a busy job/career. Limit your daily travel distance... by a lot.

Great to meet you guys. Best part is you both are keen. A beautiful wife who is also keen is a huge plus as most, if not all women, are a pain. Plan your days around 4 hours driving because you will stop regularly and 4 hours turn into 6 hours plus.

U guys have the mind set of myself and my wife don’t wait till u retired because u probably won’t be able to see all the stuff u want to see and yes u never know when ur time is up hope to see I guys on the road Did it actually take 5 years to plan or was to save the money Me personally I’ve been thinking about for a couple of years but money makes it hard to achieve anything these days we own a cafe so hopefully when we sell it we can get enough to use that to then travel and work our way around this beautiful country if we need to love ur work ❤️🇦🇺🍻

Hey mate, thanks for the comments. The five years was more so getting ourselves in to a financial position to be able to do it and also actually setting a date and leaving. We decided that 'oneday' wasn't a day of the week so we had to act if we wanted to go, so here we are.

You need a proper drinking water hose and filter, garden hoses make the water taste revolting. And you need a UHF CB for sure.

Cheers. Yes we do have a proper drinking water hose which we usually use. We also have a water filter on one of the taps so even if you use the regular hose it takes any strange taste out of it.

Did you have your set up weighed if do could you give an idea of what the weights are
@brettandamber
9 ай бұрын
Yes we've had it weighed. Can go to 4.5T on the van however the landcruiser can only pull the van at 4.0 tonnes, which is bloody heavy anyway. We usually run the van around at 3.7T fully loaded and the car is about 3.5T fully loaded so still have a few hundred kg's of headroom on both, however I wouldn't want to have it any heavier than it already is.
