Intro India will launch its first manned space mission by 2022 which could make it the fourth nation to do so after the United States, Russia and China. 'Gagan-yaan Airforce pilot Rakesh Sharma was the first Indian to have travelled in space Kalpana Chawla became first woman of Indian origin to fly into space challenge: 1.man mission iscarying a human being and he has to be sustained in orbit 2.very high zeal forces 3. zero gravity 4. training facility 5. life support system 6. cost for such project 7. How the crew member will brought back any thing goes wrong 8. Heavy launch facility implication 1. This could be image building process for future commertcial prospective 2. India can become global player in other areas 3. changing the image of India in worlkd in field of sciencve and technology

They'll probably make arrangements with other countries (America, Europe, Russia, maybe China) to use their tracking facilities for the duration of the mission. That seems to me a more cost-effective way of doing it than trying to establish their own network from scratch.

Good look to ISRO with this project. They don't have the budget of some of the other space agencies around the world, but they know how to work with what they've got, and they've done some impressive things so far. I don't see any reason they can't develop a manned spaceflight capability. The only thing that concerns me is that the 2022 target date has been set for political reasons. I wouldn't want ISRO to launch people into space until they're as sure as they can be that they're ready - better to delay the mission for a year or two if that's what it takes to make it as safe as possible.

first of all we should ask the important aspects of this mission, like importance, expenditure and how this will be beneficial for India economy or for the people of India, because I believe this project would be quite extravagant, we have lots of other issues that must be consider before starting such project, because India is already lagging behind other countries in many aspects like, corruption, poverty, economy. one more important thing if will discuss a matter like this with scientist, then can only talk about this project because they don't have knowledge in other area, you should include economist.

Other than DR.NAIR other panelist mostly don't know technicality's of manned space missions Rajya sabha tv you are doing already a great job but my suggestion is invite any fellow junior engineer are even apprentice from ISRO,LPSC,VSSC while discussing space related matters. RLV-TD is not for manned mission it is for placing satellites into LEO and GTO orbits even it require semi cryogenic engine sce-200 which is in development it will be ready by 2022 engine only not RLV-TD after that it may take another 5 years for full first RLV-TD with sce-200 semi cryo engine. Even after that it needs to be converted to MAN RATED, man ratted means the vehicle is made suitable for manned flights by adding life support, redundancy, tolerance limits. Example:: In RLV-TD payload bay while launching satellites it is OK to have more temperature ranges like 50 degree and above but for human flight temperature need to be very low and satellite can sustain deep vibrations while vehicle launch time and in-flight but humans cont sustain so vibrations need to be removed and high g values ok for satellite but not for humans last but not least any vehicle which carries humans needs to be reliable so it needs 4-5 successful launches before manned missions... GSLV MK3 is used for future manned missions which will carry 3 manned crew capsule up to 400 km for 7 days expedition in space. isro scientist are hard working i think they do achieve all these things within time frame i.e 2022 even if they achieve it in 2025 it is a quit remarkable feet considering the meager resources they have,they surely make India proud again... best of luck ISRO team.... sorry for my English..... What damage democracy did with Hindu Human Rights is notable. muslim converts got Hindu lands (Sindh, Punjab, Bengal, Kashmir) plus place to live and reservation in Bhaarat too. What Hindus got with their own land, culture and civilization??? Aur humne dekha kaise 99% converted muslim ne pakistani agenda par antiModi propaganda mein shaamil tha. Ye khoon mein hai inke. What about Hindus Human RIghts? Native Hindus in Sindh and Punjab have no proper cremation center and nor do they can study Hindi, Sanskrit, Sindhi, Punjabi etc. This is deliberate genocide of Hindus by congress. Lets agree that muslim converts must get the same rights which native Hindus get in pakistan or realize that there is a terrible genocide done on native Hindus and we must resettle Hindus in Sindh and Punjab and Bangladesh. islam ka kya lena dena Sindhi, Punjabi, Bengali, Kashmiri se? Ye clear Hindu culture genocide ke example hain jispar koi kuch nahi bolta. kya lena dena jesus ya mohammad ka Bhaarat se? kisko nahi pata ki 100% christian aur 100% muslim, converts hain aur antiBhaarat propaganda karte hain. Inn converts ko na vatican muh lagaata hai aur na he saudi. Ye aukaat hai inki. Ye jhoota propaganda karne se aur apna naam albert, john ya illa bulla rakhne se sach kabhi bhi jhoot toh nahi hone wala hai. Jahaan rehte hain wahaan ke liye loyal nahi hain aur sochte hain ki outsider inn converts ko own karle. Its mere drama. Ye paid pr aur antiBhaarat propaganda se kya hoga jab Hindus ko dikh raha hai ki ho kya raha hai. Declare Bhaarat as HinduRastra

Waitasec - @2:30 -what does he mean by "reusable vehicle"?? ISRO will be launching a space capsule, just like every other country that's attempted manned spaceflight. Does this really qualify as a "reusable vehicle"? It's not more reusable than anyone else's space capsule. And @10:05 - I think the phrase he should have used is "space medicine" and not "exobiology" - because I think exobiology refers to study of biological life which may exist on other planets outside of Earth. For a manned spaceflight, you're mainly concerned about how to sustain a human life in the conditions of outer space.

The amount of money that's pumped into the economy through contracting private companies and having them develop new tech is incredibly significant. Besides the nationalistic pride that Indians would get to enjoy, it would also make it easier to make the next few leaps in space exploration, which seems to be a growing market.

What do you mean? What are the new IITs or AIIMS for? I don't see higher education in a mess, there are more & more Indians who are succeeding in the area of advanced research. There are tons and tons of research papers with Indian authors - Check journals like Mathematische Annalen, VLDB, Sigmod, IEEE etc. Do you read much? Indians and students of Indian origin are at the forefront of new technologies in the area of AI, ML, Bigdata, GPUs, FPGAs, ASICS etc.

r8rdarklord I will not say much but just see the ranking of our universities of India. Number and quality of publications from India in good journals and number of patents. And, very few specialist institutes that we have have low quality of research. Look at our population and number of universities. It is dysmal. I think u r ignorant or brainwashed clown to say this.
@r8rdarklord
6 жыл бұрын
Abhinav Mishra: Rankings of universities are quite misleading and are done on attributes that don't matter in India. I know first hand because I have studied at IIT Kanpur in India & Berkeley in the USA. I work in the silicon valley and can objectively assess what I have learned in India & in the USA. When I hire somebody who has a B-tech from IIT, I know what I am getting. I do R&D - almost all top journals have tons of Indians publishing, I have named some of them, so do care to look at them. Population & Universities shouldn't be correlated, not everybody is designed to study and do research. It's a matter of passion and interest. In the USA, bulk of the people are educated up to junior college (the equivalent of 12th). There are vocational schools which provide them training, which allows them to either enter small business or prepare for productive jobs. The main difference between Americans and Indians is that the Americans are not ashamed of working with their hands & don't look down upon a profession like the Indians. They try to improvise, excel and think big in areas of their expertise which is the main reason for their success. We have a babu mentality - meaning unless one is sitting on a chair in front of a desk in an ironed shirt holding a pen, we don't consider it a job. This is the main thing that needs change, rest of it will fall in place.
@abhinav.mishra17
6 жыл бұрын
r8rdarklord I have also studied from IIT and know many friends who are outside and also in the best of IITs. I am sure innovation is not a think of concern in India and even in iits. Publications and patents from India and from indians are two different things. Per capita publications from India is dismally low. CSIR is bullshit. In this much big country, I think you should not rejoice for making some software applications from chosen very few in iits. Yes, vocational training, we must have MSME sector in good shape for them to get a job, that is definitely not. We have tons of demographic dividend going to gutter. Our budgeted amount as percentage of GDP towards R&D has been decreasing. For universities, I will suggest you to descend on ground and for that u may see University Series of Mr. Ravish Kumar.
@r8rdarklord
6 жыл бұрын
Abhinav Mishra: I disagree with each and every pretext in your writing: - Innovation doesn't happen because somebody sits on a chair and decides to innovate. It happens because of a need to solve a problem (industrial or otherwise). I am pretty sure companies based in India innovate (we have a fairly large presence in India, there are nice innovative products coming our from various divisions of our company). - Publications and Patents from India from Companies such as Intel, Amazon, Facebook, Google, Oracle, Cisco and many many others are in abundance and critical too. It is being done by Indians from Indian Universities who are excelling in these companies. What is there to not like about it. - Who cares about CSIR? Govt. shouldn't be involved in Scientific Research except for some very specialized areas where the cost of bootstrapping the research is prohibitive or the research is in an area sensitive to the military. In the USA the Govt. is not involved in research at all. There are some Grants from DARPA but most areas even in Universities are funded by private companies who then own intellectual property rights. - Again, any country that budgets any amount for R&D except for the two areas I mentioned above is living in a dated economic model which have failed. Govt. should fund Universities. Universities should make the effort to acquire grants by promising to do tangible research and development. That is the successful model. This will differentiate the good universities from the bad ones. - Who is Ravish Kumar? Is he some educationist who has made a name for himself. We have tremendous models of how advanced institutions need to run in TIFR, IISC, IITs (definitely during my days). It was hard work maintaining 9.5+ GPA at IITK but I had no difficulty in maintaining near perfect GPA at the University of Berkeley.
