The really sad part is that some of these influencers don't really care about people. They only care about metrics and monetizing their content. So if they influence young people to take gear, that's just more money for them. IMO, it's good that you are in the space to counteract the garbage that is in the space. Love you and Jas and the things that you stand for on the vlog.

Hi Jas and Craig, when I was in my late 20's there were a few guys in the gym (that I owned) that were doing roids. I am 5' 11 and was maybe 165 lbs. I considered taking roids but decided against it. Instead, I trained really hard and ate 6000-8000 cals a day and drank tons of protein powder. 2 year later I weighed 210 and my bodyfat % fluctuated between 10-12. I was exhausted all the time and began to hate training, I'm sure I was overtrained and just burned-out training 6 days a week (there had to be an easier way to keep my gains). I decided to give it up and rapidly lost all my gains within a year. I was more into aerobic activities, mountain biking, aerobic classes, running etc. I'm now 65 and my gains in strength and overall aerobic fitness has demised immensely. Nutrition was a forethought back then and the idea of protein to carbs to fat ratios was not a science. I train relatively hard for my age because I know how important it is for aging adults. I've convinced my wife to start working out (which she hates) but she understands the importance of it also. Back in the 80-90's, the Arnold aera, the younger generation just wanted to emulate those types of athletes and didn't care how they achieved it. Unfortunately that mindset has continued and it's become more rampant. Some coaches, encourage it just to have a winning team which will ultimately destroy a child's health. I'm so glad I decided not go down the chemical route and compromise my health. Who knows how my body would have reacted to it and the long-term complications I may have experienced at this age. Those that are considering a shortcut, I urge you it's just not worth the risk, Train hard, eat right, rest, repeat. I guarantee you, you will thank yourself for training naturally when that competitive, egotistical you ages. Dave

Agreed on people - especially the younger people - seeing physiques and weights that are not realistic or healthy. I've been lifting weights for forty-three years. Started with Nautilus machines haha. Powerlifting. Bodybuilding stuff. Olympic lifts. Crossfit. I've seen it all. I'm much healthier because of it, but I look like pretty much any other woman of my age, maybe I appear a bit fitter but the important thing is I can DO things and I have more capacity to heal from illness and injury. It's good to point out that social media is NOT real life and these influencers rolling the dice with their long-term health are making a poor bargain. We all get sick and/or hurt. The question becomes: Do you want to chase a look or be around for what's important with a decent quality of life?

Good to hear a statement from you about this. People tend to forget or deny that this drugs have consequences. Even if you dont care about your health there is the mental part that makes it even worse. I hate it, that the "fitness" industry (and some other sports federations) takes this drugs too easy or even just focus on the financial profit. The drugtests on crossfit are a joke, and still some idiots fail them. And afterwards they are allowed to compete again with their build up advantage.

I agree withwith everything you said in this video. One thing that no one is talking about is how great will impact your life when you are older. At a young age, your body is already producing so much testosterone already, so there’s no need to take gear. If you do, this will mess up your bodies ability to produce testosterone when you are off it. You don’t want to be 30 years old with a metabolism of a 90 year old.

Very well said mate. I'm now 40....which sounds old as fuck....however I've never been more aware of what is important. I train now for longevity. I don't completely disregard the aesthetic and am still achieving many fitness PBs but the reality is life is short and fragile, injuries become more frequent and prolonged as you get older and to waste your youth solely on the aesthetic is to waste your best years on something that will pass before you realise what you had. I guess being an influencer you will feel an obligation to try to influence, or help, who you can and well done for that. In a world that wants quick wins, fast gains and big money your view is in the minority. As many say, keep up the good work. You've both built a fantastic brand and share meaningful content.

Hell, at 31 years old, so many people are on gear trend, and my social media feed is filled with people who look like I'd love to but never will do some fucked up things to my head. I wish people were just honest. I have no issue if you're in gear. Just be honest about it. Don't make people think they can look like X unassisted when they can't. When I first followed you I had to grow to understand how long and how intense you've been training. I'd love a body as defined as yours, but my focus isn't nearly as honed in at the gym, and my diet doesn't match. I've had to learn how to set realistic expectations for my progress with how much I train and how I eat. Also male spaces and media have all become so geared and jacked. Just look at Hugh Jackman; I saw a social media post about him the other day. Early XMen, you can see what he was like before this trend and look at how his body transformed over the years. Hard as fuck work, sure, but also, he has to stand out.

The issue is young adults just throwing themselves into gear without any research. Most of the Top Physique people that I follow are transparent on what they are on. They also explain the downfall of being on gear. Larry Wheels along with others warn everyone on the negative affects of gear and possibly life threating ones too. It's not hard to figure out that, sure it can lead to more growth while on gear, but its also not hard to figure out that it makes a permanent negative affect long term as well. I respect the influencers who are transparent (although I go against going on gear) but agree they should not influence young adults directly into it.

The only reason anyone should be on gear is if their absolute main goal is to be a PROFESSIONAL body builder and if they’ve maxed out their natural physique at some point. 23-25 years old at least, 21 is way too young. Johnny Muenster is a good example. Natty for a long time, took all the correct testing precautions before hand and is starting out slowly. He was also honest when he decided to start on gear

I watched that other KZitem dude Jesse West something like, his last video I think, that and due to professional body building when he was tested for the various factors his body was slower to recover due to what he did when he was young. Just know, it's paramedics have resuscitated 17 year old because of steroids, 24 year olds, heart attacks on early thirties because of roid use when they played sport at school and university. The long term effects are devastating and your body cannot ever recover from that.

Personal choice. Research Like crazy, find the real truth, talk to those that have used. Personally be strong and be natural as Nd be proud. Like you, I've been lifting since I was 12, I'm now 63, I still lift 3 times a week. Compound lifts twice a week, and body building on the other. Genetics play a huge part in it. I have to do an active recovery week in every 4-5 weeks as I don't recover so quickly at my age. Never touch gear as I was a competition athlete. My best mate went the body building way, he went on gear to compete. He suffers way more than I do with joint pains. He too is 63 and still lifting

It isn't just fitness. Local rugby club players, many are on gear - even non-national divisions. Athletics, anyone inside the top 20 in any event, but outside the top 5 are on something. The top 5 are under British Athletics, who have their own 'program'. Local Crossfit gym, plenty of 'use' going on amongst the under 30s there - and they aren't even close to being 'Games' athletes. Just look for the acne, the mood swings, the vacant stares and the overly aggressive PR celebrations. #sad

As some one who takes testosterone for a legitimate medical reason I can never claim to be natty regardless of the fact my levels are closely monitored to be in the normal male range and in my case at the super low end of that. I will be on Testosterone the remainder of my life It frustrates me to see these influencers using gear and not being open about it, its your choice to use it but be open about it

I don’t understand our world. Why people are so obsessed by their physics, not about being in good shape and in a good condition but just how it looks… training more the physic capacity than their brain. Very very sad !
