I have the midnight colour. No issues at all with scratches or marks. 8GB of RAM is more than enough for most people. Fast charging does not damage the battery. The only thing right in the video is the SSD speed for the 256GB model.

No marks? Just wait a while... 8Gb memory enough ? Just wait a while, until the ssd is getting fuller… Fast charging not damaging the battery? Just wait a while… Apple is not an stupid company. They know how to make money 💰 and they know to do the magical trick of selling an almost perfect product that becomes obsolete before you blink your eyes. This KZitemr is giving you the best advices in the less time possible. At least for the people who still haven’t bought the computer. Avoid 8Gb and 256gb Avoid dark colors Avoid fast charging Be happy 🥇

@@allehooop I don’t really disagree that that setup would become obsolete fairly quickly; as a disclaimer, I did buy this setup. However, I only need to use the laptop for cloud based work purposes and very limited educational purposes. I’ve also owned two iterations of the MacBook Pro that were fully loaded and ridiculously priced. They were both fabulous machines, the last being a 2012 that I still use from time to time. The screen seal has started to melt and it doesn’t hold a charge for more than a few hours. Otherwise, it’s holding up very well, and well worth the investment when I didn’t own a desk top. However, I now have a Mac Studio with 32 gigs of RAM and 1 TB storage. If I didn’t, I would absolutely have upgraded both, if not went with a MacBook Pro again.

macbook air m1 8gig memory 256gb ssd has been amazing for my wife in her masters program! i’d 100% recommend it for students. now for someone like me who does video and audio editing as professional work, or is in school for such a profession, i’d skip the air and go pro, but make sure you get all the same upgrades he recommends here for the pro as well. Air will be fine for a while if it’s what you can afford, just start saving right away for your next one and trade up as soon as your trade in value and savings together equal the price of the computer you need.

I’m not sure why he’s talking like no one invented MacBook cases to prevent scratches. And to prevent any type of scratching, it would be best to put a case on it.

100% agree. I want to like what is said, but is such an off the cuff opinion that it does not make since. Space Grey is still a great color. The 15” is selling good, but people think it would perform like a Pro version when it does not.

I took notice of the past videos. i bought a M1 macbook pro 14 nearly new. my reasons are: 1/the price is a lot cheaper and i dont have to upgrade the RAM (already 16GB) and the storage (already 512GB) 2/ the screen is way better. 3/the size, when you compair a 14 pro which is slightly bigger that a 13 inch air but smaller than a 15 air. this is the best for both portability and the desk. 4/ the performance which is not far away from the M2. give this option some seroius consideration. 5/ the upgrades alone make the price another $400 which brings the price very close to Pro territory. so buy a M1 Air or better still get an M1 Pro. the performance is awesome and not far behind the M2 models and its much cheaper. on the sponser there is a better and smaller unit which is the ugreen cube which is awesome.

here’s the formula.. apple only updates their mac model every 18 months.. So the first M2 Macbook was released july last year (i think) so next “first” m3 will the macbook air 13 around January/February 2024.. Apple won’t release an m3 15 inch macbook air 3 months after they just released the m2 15 inch macbook air

Hi, I am currently looking for a new macbook for school starting this september. I need it for coding and some software development, though i dont need the highest of the performance. I just need a device that can last for 5-7 years(with latest software updates) and has good battery life and decent operformance. Should i get the m1 macbook pro 14", the 15"macbook air or wait for the m3 macbook air potentially coming this october or something else(note the m1 pro and 15 inch are basically the same price where i live).

For portability and coding you should get the 15" Air M2 with at least 512GB SSD and 16GB memory. With a programming IDE you need the largest desktop size or else it gets frustrating over time.

Hey, I am going into college and I am looking for a Macbook for daily life tasks, coding, homework, watching videos, listening to music, video/photo editing, and I would enjoy some performance for gaming(such as MC or Roblox, not too gpu demanding). The spec that I have chosen is the 14' with the M2 Max(12 core, 30 GPU, 16 neural) along with 32 gb ram, and 1TB storage for $2,799(student discount). Is this an overkill for my usage? Is there any problems with the airflow in the 14" not being able to cool the M2 Max that could lead to throttling? Any suggestion and recommendations will greatly help!

As someone who has to purchase their second macbook for college because the first one wasnt powerful enough to handle my simple daily tasks, i say you should definitely not worry about overkill. I had the base macbook 13 and it couldnt handle spotify, a few docs tabs, and pycharm running in the background without getting super hot and throttling. I just purchased the 14’ m2 pro hoping to solve those problems .

I’m not very tech-y at all. can somebody help me please? What if I’m trying to spend as little as possible? I want a MacBook Air. This needs to last me like at least five years, if I get the 16 GB RAM, will it be better for the health of the computer? upgrading to the 512 won’t matter if I can use like a hard drive right? I’ll just have to transfer stuff over so I can kind of skimp out on paying the extra money for the 512 by just using a hard drive right? 🤦🏻♀️ sorry I am so illiterate when it comes to tech lol.

If you can afford to, make the upgrade to 16GB ram and 512gb hardrive If you cant afford that, then try at least the 16GB ram upgrade only, otherwise it might struggle to last you 5 years. The SSD which is the memory for storing all your data and programs (256gb, 512gb etc.) is slow when choosing the 256gb version in terms of writing and reading data from it. If you dont constantly work with big files or use programs for video/image editing than you might not see a difference

@@DipSet85omg thank youuuuuu 😭 the 256 is storage right? So if I store a lot in the cloud or a flash drive I should be fine and won’t tap into it as much right?
@DipSet85

@@Lex-rc1gr yeah, but still i think for 2023 256 is small amount for a laptop when phones have that much memory. The operating system automatically takes 20gb and you need like 20% free space for everything to run normally etc, so its more like 180-200gb usable. But its upto you, problem is you cant upgrade it later but you can use external storage. Also, installing program’s takes up space on the internal SSD, if you will be installings lot’s of stuff something to consider.
