I completely relate with the “fit it Felix” mentality. I literally had a Savior complex with my first boyfriend and so even when I was unhappy and felt wronged, I just sucked it up and endured it because I felt like I had the emotional capacity to. But when I told my mom this, she was like, “Why are you trying to carry all of his burdens? Are you God?” He was a first year of college kinda boyfriend, not even my husband, yet I was here tryna make something work when it was obviously irreconcilably broken. I’ve learned a lot since then and I pray the Lord continues to give me wisdom on this dating issue going forward

God really teaches us a lot through relationships! I’m still constantly learning things in my marriage and through my friendships! I’m glad your mom could also speak those words to you as I’m sure they helped you see more clearly what was happening!! Praise the Lord for wise council in our lives, right??☺️

I can relate so much to what you said about breaking up with your now husband & how God has been so gracious. My husband & I have a similar story & I had so many convictions while dating him. We were young and so attached to each other, it made it so hard to leave, so I didn’t. We have been married almost 5 years now & God has been so gracious working in our marriage & in transforming both our hearts.

I will give you this, you even back then before you were a Christian you were a much better woman to date than most other women out there. Right now your husband is truly blessed to have you and the advice you give is truly helpful to all of the young women out there.

I still have not figured it out. I thought that I had to fix all of my friendship issues because I grew up thinking that good Christians were nice, kind, and loving to everyone, and it was clear that I failed at that, and I thought that good Christians were perfect at everything. Thankfully I finally understood how much of I sinner that I truly am and am glad that Christ died on the cross for us because we cannot do it at all. (also thanks for getting Bob the Builder in my head 🤣🤣 )

You’re not the only one who has thought that! It’s a freeing reality to get to the point where you see that Christians aren’t perfect, but they’re forgiven 🙏🏻🙌🏼 and that really helps in all relationships, not just the romantic ones!

Great video! I feel like I'm listening to myself talk. This was me back in the days of dating. If only I would have listened to the convictions from God. I'm thankful that with God's help I eventually woke up and my eyes were open to what God really wanted for me and my life. Thank the Lord that I'm now married to my wonderful husband and I don't have to date anymore. In April we will be celebrating our 16th anniversary. 🙏🙏🙏 Only by the grace of God. 🙏

This is great! I've never been in a relationship before and have never been persued. And being in my late 20s, I have always felt like I've missed out on dating and stuff. But I'm finally realizing that God has been protecting me from heartbreak. Especially seeing all my friends who have been in a relationship and I saw their hurt and pain, I'm glad I didn't go through that being so young and naive. I do hope and pray of being in a relationship and getting married. But I will wait on God and His perfect timing 😊❤

Wait, a girl who wants to fix the boy(friend)?! Never heard of that. 😉 Yeah, there are _too many_ women who spend _too much_ time trying to fix bad guys that are not good for them and don't want to be fixed. _Too many_ good guys left standing alone waiting while girls are busy trying to save their hopeless relationship. Congratulations to your marriage.

I’m so glad I came across this video. It’s actually helped me realize that a lot of my relationships weren’t actually relationships. A lot of what you’ve said resonates and leads me to truly unpack everything that went wrong so I can prepare for what’s right. Thank you for sharing your story

I had my first bf in middle school then when I was a senior he told me he was gay. He’s not a good friend to me now. We don’t even talk. I was so sad. I am talking to 3 but two of them don’t text me or even talk to me much. I’m a bad rusher. I thought I could fix him being gay too but it didn’t work. We are very similar lol

That's a trip I was just thinking about confidence in general, like everyday confidence and I clicked on your video. Great insight, I totally can relate to God being there even in our bad decisions or lack of making a decision. God really meets us in our mess.

Keeping you in prayer sister 💜 and thanks for sharing! Man it's been a ride, I've been through a lot of stuff these past months including my boyfriend breaking up with me . . After 3 months, he initiated meeting up and God has been doing a lot with us individually; we are now praying about moving forward together again and in an even more intentional way. Relationships are a lot of work and especially long distance, but in the end if it's meant to be, we cannot mess up God's plan. Of course that doesn't negate our responsibility before God to seek and obey Him. But He uses our mistakes even in His plan and if we are submitted to Him and belong to Him, He turns all of that around for our good 💕
