Great video. I thought I was the only one that had a problem with these straps. I just cut them flush whenever I get a pair of new boots. Never missed them. You should be using a shoehorn anyway 😊

Very helpful, I never thought of it and pretty much accepted the inconvenience. Thank you for adressing such niche topics !

my eye hooks get caught on threads inside my pants hem, due to wearing taller boots. Never happened in USA but in some foreign countries i have to take off my boots so much that it happens.

Ah yes. That's another issue. I've had them nearly tear away the hemming underneath.

I cannot stand those straps! I have a few pairs of the AE Liverpool. The way the strap is attached makes me think cutting it off will ruin the boots. Honestly I don’t wear them as often as I could because of the strap. I suppose I could bring them to a cobbler… first world problems!

I have a pair of chelsea boots I cannot get on without the loop. I have lace up boots that I have removed the loop. Others the loop is almost flush with the top of the boot and some I have folded the loop into the boot.

That's why I buy RM Williams Chelsea boots. You can flash the tags. Good thing I'm a shameless Australian lol.

@@MeToo-py1tq show them by letting the trousers sit on top the the boot collar. Im australian and to be honest I think it looks tacky even with RMs, I associate it with mostly women who wear blundstones and skinny jeans.
