The Clyde Link operated Renfrew Ferry which resembles a floating bathtub connects Yoker to Renfrew via a short trip across the River Clyde. From this point the nearest river crossing is the Clyde Tunnel to the East and the Erskine bridge to the West. The road route via the Clyde Tunnel is around 6 miles so it's a great time saver if you need to get to Renfrew.
You can find the North side slipway in Yoker at Yoker Ferry Road off Dumbarton in Yoker beside the Kwik Fit car garage. The South side slipway is at the junction of Ferry Road and Clyde Street outside the Ferry Inn pub. This area of Renfrew is known as kings Inch after the now land connected island which existed there.
It's not bad value at £2.50 per crossing. You can't buy a return ticket as you may overhear in the conversations.
There is no timetable as the vessel just moves back and forth all day as required. The last sailing is at 18:30 every day and the first sailing is at 06:30 Monday to Friday and 10am at weekends.
The ferry is only suitable for bikes and pedestrians.
On this crossing the skipper starts the departure at Yoker then kindly manoeuvres back to pick up another arriving passenger.
