I do calisthenics and I was on a 2 night cruise and gained like 3kg from like pure pancakes and candy and my handstand push ups went from like 7 to like 2 now a few weeks later I’m back on track again tho so all good lol

Protein is hard to be stored as fat but I don't think anyone is out here just binge eating chicken breasts or other lean meats. I get what you're saying though. I think tracking the amt you've eaten is good so u can make up for it over the week to stick to your deficit for that week.

When binge eating happens to me I eat huge amounts of greek yogurt, cottage cheese, sour cream, chicken breasts, butter and I really comsume up to 3000-4000 calories on such days :--( (One day I ate 1.5 kg of greek yogurt...) I can also say that few years ago I binged on vegetables and fruits and it was really awful as I could eat 600 grams of cauliflower or carrot or broccoli or 1 kg of watermelon and feel bad after it. My skin is very very prone to acne, so I had to give up on whey protein and dairy, so my only source is chicken, turkey, fish and red meat, and I really really struggle to eat 450-500 grams of these meats every day to get into my 120-130 gram per day zone!

The biggest thing is to just not let the guilt from overeating stop you. It's fine to overeat every now and then (just try not to do it intentionally) as long as you are sticking to a deficit most of the time. There's no reason to "give up" on a diet just because you overate once or twice.

@@kidneybeans7556 I’ve used a lot of calculators that say I should be eating like 1,600-1,700 a day but I have doubts about the accuracy. Though, I’m only 5’4 and 113lbs. Even eating high protein and 2,000 calorie I still feel hungry most days.

@@margaretrangel7223 I’d listen to my body over calculators. If 2000 calories leaves you hungry even when eating big volumes of lower calorie foods, then you may even wanna try increasing your calories to like 2200 and see if it affects your weight in a week. You may have a fast metabolism.

Yeah same, i ate 1950 yesterday but still fell asleep hungry. I have literally no idea why since i can’t be eating too little volume/ fiber as my diet is like 60-70% vegetables/ fruit

thats simple (imo) at least if you have money, just get 2kg jello free sugar( here in spain, 2 packs equal 2,10 eur), mix it with 300g yoghurt free fats(1kg margui 80% less fats = 2,25 again, in where i live), and mix it with some cereals or fruits your choice (Btw, the jello+ yoghurt i just said contains around 60g of protein, 25/30G of carbs and 6g of fats). eat that for breakfast or w/e you want and i doubt you will feel hungry for much longer

Your body also has more resources readily available for recovery/performance, so it is probably beneficial to overeat once in a while (within reason)

I weigh 100kg and am reasonably active. My base metabolic rate is around 2500 calories a day. I eat around 2000 to 2100 to stay in a slight deficit and am losing weight.

Of course it is possible. For instance if you burn 2000 calories while resting (average men, so if you are muscular it is more) + you walk your 10000 step a day (about 300-400 calories) + you do resistance training (1h is without problem 200-400), and if on top of that your active and you regularly do cardio you can easily go way more than that

I once (3days ago) ate a crazy amount (all) of nugget at John’s incredible pizza (Only good protein source there) on a cheat day with family. My body shot cluster bombs out my rear for over a solid minute at the mall 15 mins after we left. My body I promise did not absorb most of my surplus calories.

A sedentary human burns around 1700 calories a day. If you're a waiter, you would burn approximately this much just in an evening of waiting tables (and this isn't even taking into consideration any training or walking around)

I just started counting the calories I eat too. It's incredibly easy to overeat if you don't pay great attention to labels or do your research. When I see people advertising some fruits and vegetables as low cal, and they are actually 100cal or almost, I shake my head 😂 like, no, a banana or an apple is not gonna fulfill me, and I'll still be hungry, and just wasted 100cal off the 1500 I try to consume. It's so annoying.

Here's my personal (and kinda serious) anecdote as someone who developed an eating disorder after nonstop calorie cutting for 6 months: I binge ate entire boxes of cookies and cereal every single day for a month and a half, I must have consumed over 7,000 calories at least 3 times a week, somewhere around 4,000-5,000 most other days, I also stopped working out because I felt horrible looking at myself in the mirror. After 7 whole weeks of this behavior I went from (age 27m 5'10") 155lb to 162lb all my lean mass is still in tact but I lost my abs. That's about it. I lost my abs. The intriguing part is that it seemed I regressed my fitness progress in a very linear rate, it took my exactly the amount of time to lose my abs as it did to gain them, and this is by MONSTEROUSLY binge eating EVERY DAY for almost 2 months (I struggled with addiction and eating disorder in the past but many years ago). The weird part is now that I'm not as lean as I used to be I have amazing cardio now I can literally jump rope for like 1-2 hours and still walk an uphill mile afterwards and be chilling. Only problem I have now is I'm super hungry all the time and I don't feel satisfied unless I eat exactly my maintenance calories. Like somehow my body knows it doesn't wanna cut calories anymore and forces me to eat exactly the amount I need. I have since stopped the binge eating and am back on track to getting slightly leaner and plan to remain around 158lb

Had a similar experience. Now I don't count calories at all (just kind of track protein) and go on a mini deficit for just one week every 2 months. I'm stronger, more fit and have learned again how to respond to hunger cues. Good luck!

Damn that’s crazy inspirational. Your body also probably want to revert to the old eating disorder calorie count because if the dopamine so it doesn’t really want you to cut right now, so yeah like you said you should just maintain for a while until your body becomes used to those calories.

I will leave this here...sleepers burn between 40 - 80 calories an hour. So in an 8-hour window, you can expect to burn between 320 - 640 calories per night. If you sleep 10 hours a night opposed to 6 you can work out how much extra calories are burned in a week

Do you have enough protein? It's important to eat a lot of it during cuts, feeling tired is fairly normal but if you literally can't stand it/feel dizzy all the time, I truly recommend you to eat even a little more, eating too little can be dangerous and backfire in the long run:-( I hope you're okay and wish you the best!!

Haha I just put this into action! 111 lbs on a Wednesday, overate by 1500 calories Thursday (no regretting the spicy chicken sandwich, animal fries, butterfinger blizzard and donut 🤤) Friday weighed 113.7lbs and by Saturday I was at 111lbs again. Enjoy life and your fitness journey 😘

Im not a keto fan, however if you follow a low carb diet and spluge on a bunch of carbs alot of those calories wont be turned into fat because they will be stored as glycogen in your muscles. So that is 1 benefit when having a cheat day on that type of diet.

This came up first on my feed tonight after I overate today. It was emotional eating. I did it consciously. It was also weigh in day so it’s another 7 days until my next weigh in / body scan. After watching this video I realise that it’s okay … I overate by 1,300 calories. Not really earth shattering because I have a half marathon I might run on Sunday

And no, you didn't gain three kilos from over eating 1500 calories. It's water weight from too many carbs and salt. Give it a day or two on less carbs, less salt, and more water, and you'll see that that 1500 calories surpluss was barely anything.

Just as you won't lose weight by undereating for one day, you won't gain weight after overeating for one day. I think the worse thing that is happeing for me is that after I overeat (although it's usually not as much) I feel like some sort of blockade in my brain breaks and it's much harder to start counting the calories again. I don't feel guilty, but rather not motivated anymore. I might need to take a closer look at that next time it happens.

Are you supposed to reduce your calories a little bit over the following days or just go back to your normal diet? If I overeat by say 1000 calories, the next day I'll have 200 less, then 200 less the day after just to take some of those calories off.

You're phrasing it like you're going to lose an extra 150 calories due to digestion if you eat 1500 calories. You still ate an extra 1350 calories. Be like taking out a grand loan from the bank and putting a tenner in your savings and saying you've saved an extra tenner

I cant lose weight even though i workout and i dont think i have above 1000 calories or 1200 calories per day in breakfast lunch and dinner

This realy helped right now. I feeled so bad for over eating 1600kcal. It was a bad binch and i was feel horribel. Now i feel better.

So instead of lift, I should use the stairs whenever possible and drink enough of water if I have a surpluses of calories.

So my bmr is around 1300 cal and I eat very less like around 500 cal everyday(ed recovery)and i ate around 1000cal in one day is it fine?

I think I overeat 3 days total every 2 weeks being in about a 1500 calorie surplus each of those days and I will say it DOES play an impact on my progress. Over a 12 week bulk I’ve put on at least 10 pounds of unnecessary fat whereas my usual daily calorie intake is around 2700 or about a 500 calorie surplus. So I should only be gaining 1 lb a week or less not 1.5+
