The Bisection Method and Pseudocode PREVIEW | Year 11 Mathematical Methods | MaffsGuru.com
**
This is the final video in the series on Polynomials for the Year 11 Mathematical Methods course (VCE Units 1 and 2). I take time to look at how we can use something called the Bisection Method to find the roots of polynomials through a guess and check type way. Looking at intervals and finding midpoints, we can quickly and easily find decimal roots of polynomials. I also look at the Pseudocode which can be used to describe and simulate the Bisection Method shown in the video. I look at one example in depth and another which could be quite tricky. All is explained in an easy to understand way.

00:10 Welcome
00:50 Learning objectives
01:08 Recap of past learning
02:16 Finding the decimal solution for a cubic
03:34 Can't I just solve using the CAS?
04:09 Can we guess and check in some way?
05:04 Visually, what are we going to do?
This maths video has been created for courses which are delivered in Australia but, as Maths is a constant, it is equally helpful for students in the USA, UK and other countries who are looking for good maths videos for both high school and middle school.
