For a long time, the people who wrote about Africa's past were mostly Eurocentric Africanists. These Western historians acted like experts on African history, but they often tried to change and control the African story. Theophile Obenga, a respected African scholar and master linguist, showed how these Eurocentric views were full of biases and dishonesty.
