WOW! Thanks for watching and supporting my video. You're the first actual actor to ever comment on my channel lol. As you can tell, I really love school days and it was the first movie on my channel to receive an A grade. The film made me fall in love with HBCUs at a young age. You did great in the film. I wish I could hear from more actors and their experiences on this channel because you guys need as much exposure as possible. Once again thank you for watching and supporting my video!

No one shouldn't have to go through the humiliation and the pain of fraternities and sororities just to belong to something.

This was the first Spike Lee joint i saw. I saw it with my cousin who attended Clark Atlanta University. Fun Fact: Tyra Ferrell (Ricky & Doughboy’s mama) was a Gamma Ray.

I thought the ending was perfect. It does come out of nowhere, and that’s kind of the point. Everyone character needed to wake up and Giancarlo and Larry (lmao) internationally breaking the fourth wall felt deliberate toward the us, the movie audience, and the world. I cried the first time I saw because it’s so powerful. Most of us are still asleep.

I go to Morehouse where the movie was film at and it’s safe to say that nothing has changed lol it’s literally the same since the movie has came out lol. Still surrounded by the hood and all but in 2026 FIFA World Cup coming to Mercedes Benz which is not too far from the school so the area might change but again it’s funny how it hasn’t changed.

I liked the ending because he was telling everybody to wake up and stop fighting among each other for stupid things. His cousin was the perfect example of like you said. He was brain washed into joining a frat and then slept with his frat brother's girlfriend. She didn't want to sleep with half pint, half pint knew she didn't want to sleep with him, and President knew and he let it happen so he could break up with no matter what she did. He basically ruined that girl's reputation and she would probably have to transfer because the frat and her club would see her as a hoe. That is pretty sad. I loved the movie, but I hated that part of it.

6:05 Based in fact, at the college I went to, the fraternities all had female adjuncts (though not all the sororities have their opposites - usually they were sort of "paired" with another fraternity).

My thing was there was a dark skin Gamma Ray but she dressed feminine. It’s like Spike Lee didn’t let the dark skin girls try to be attractive. Kinda like a take me as I am type deal.

This movie came out my senior year in high school...made me look forward to going to college. Tisha looked AMAZING in this film...but hated how Frat President set her up so he could break up with her.

GREAT video and new sub here this is so dope! And I know I’m suuuper late to this as well but I actually read/heard that Spike actively segregated the cast during filming (put the lighter skin cast in nice hotels and lodging than the dark skinned members etc) which is what lead to the tension up to that fight breaking out. Which idk if it has much credence to its validity but wild fact if nonetheless.

3:13 Not long, this is basically a stand-in for Alpha-Phi-Alpha at Spike's alma mater, this is the sort of stuff they do.

Can't believe that movie was made 35 years ago. Makes me wonder how those characters made out in real life.
