Three things. One: ridiculous how every song in the late 60's needed the obligatory Indian sitar. Thanks, George Harrison and the Beatles. Two: I really like that second song she sings. Anyone here know the title, and what Bobbie Gentry album it's on? Is it called "Good Morning?" Third: just realized how Donovan and the singer of Belle & Sebastian have the same singing voice

The Musical Director on the show was John Cameron who made the arrangements for I presume one of the BBC orchestras; they had a lot of in-house talent in that era. He also produced Donovan's early releases, which is how the World goes round.
@francismitchell2177

@@philt4346 The Wikipedia page for John Cameron is an interesting springboard off to other musicians, he had a hand in many hit records including from Hot Chocolate and as part of CCS, as well as scoring 'Kes' for Ken Loach. Later he was involved in the stage production of 'Les Miserables'. I have an 1969 Deram compilation called 'Wowie Zowie The World of Progressive Music' that includes a track called 'Go Away Come Back, Another Day' by the John Cameron Quartet, I Googled this and Discogs has Harold McNair down as responsible for flutes and saxophones. Perhaps Cameron also commissioned him for the Bobbie Gentry show?
