For anyone who buys that sword. The important note for use is to have an unmoving posture. Keeping the same stance, unlike an axe. You aren't letting the gravity and concave convex edges do the work, you're letting the length of the blade act as a friction wedge over the duration of the chop. You want the tip pointed down and your strength to be in the arch of the swing. Not your grip bearing down on the wood. You want the edge to bite into the lip of the far edge of the wood, and them draw down and back towards you like a scissor with the ground. If youre hitting flat, your just dropping an axe blade from height. It wont do much. Youre sheering the grain, not cutting into it with a sword like that. Which is why hardwoods dont comply with the sword, as well as the style of steel and temper it has.
@ThorenBradley
Ай бұрын
For context here: this sword is intended for easier softwoods like pine and cedar OR smaller pieces of hardwood. I knew that I could pick a piece that would be near impossible for the sword. Wanted to show why, and when, you would pick a maul or an axe instead. 🫡 it was an unfair task for the sword. But necessary to see e
