Ron is a legend, living but 2 minutes from me I see him regularly and he's always open for a chat. Fantastic Gentleman and so happy he managed my football club, AVFC.

It's a shame the racist incident has soured people's opinions on him. (Of course what he said was massively wrong) But his presence both as a manager and then in media as a pundit and commentator brightened up English football big time.

@@Scallion_D he wasn't racist at all but said it as football insider talk & it was off camera & not meant for transmission. Usual witch-hunt.

The racist slur was anger towards a chelsea defender's lack of effort, but did he ever not give any player their chance and Ron had loads of black players. He didn't buy ones proven, he either improved them from within the club teams, or bought ones who shone on the pitch. He worked with them, so this shows a relationship, but he couldve opted for a white player instead. Also, most played their best under Ron, but not as well elsewhere.

I started watching football around 1998 and didn't realize until now just how great a manager he was. He had success at multiple clubs and would be appreciated more if it wasn't for the guy who followed him at Old Trafford.

Miss 20th Century adverts. Magic & memories. Now, annoying 888 gambling ads & grasping charity adverts that only want direct debits. They can't do the magic we had since the 50s.

Inherited a very good team at west brom built by Howe, Giles and Allen but he did galvanize that side, he, only in truth added batson! Godden Statham, cyrille, Laurie, Willie, wile, ally rob, robbo, cantello, bomber, and ally brown were already there. I could have managed that team! it was so good! . A good manager would have won the league with it!!! A Clough or Bobby Robson

New Labour caused so-called ''bigotry'' ie freedom of expression by swinging open the gates to unwanted mass immigration which caused economic and cultural disaster. Blair...worst ever PM, an abysmal failure.

Ellis makes you laugh, because he never wanted to spend and even did that just before the club won the European Cup, and they paid the price by relegation. Managers like Ron and Ron made them great, but now they will always be at the bottom.

Leicester won the league playing 4-4-2 and just constantly going over the top to Vardy. They were the only side playing that way and just happened to win the league as a club expected to be fighting relegation. Maybe today's tactics aren't better, just newer.

Hardly racist he just told the truth as he saw it ,unfortunately he used a word that is now verboten. Black people use that word to describe each other constantly. Double standards methinks.
