I play bass in a trio rock band and this really takes the guitar solos- and chorus parts up a notch.

This was a really fun review, I love the twinkle in your eye talking about that pedal, it sounds really fun!

This pedal set with a pad to a low volume and a good longer decay pedal after can really add a basic “keyboard pads” player in the background. I like the “warm pad” for this. I think it’s variation 2.

A plumes before the sy1 goes nice, as the tube screamer fills out the chords and you can sustain a note and let the OD signal through for layers

I also love using it with the OC-3/OC-5! I run the suboctave into the SY-1 in "bass" mode. It actually sounds quite modern that way when blended with the suboctave. Great ideas! Thanks for re-inspiring me 😁 Also, try using it with a Tube Screamer BEFORE the SY-1 and it will articulate full chords way better.

I have watched this like 4 times. I need to get this pedal. This is the best demo of it on KZitem.

Wow, thanks for that! I hope you like my little demos. It gets a lot of use on my bass board.

I do like this pedal, but it does have some wild dynamics, so you are going to need a compression pedal. I usually use mine with my guitar amp, so i wonder if using a bass or keyboard amp like you suggested might help as well.

I have the SY-1000 and the SY 1 The SY-1 is all you need if you want quick set up and great sounds you also get amazing tone. Using only 1/4” ? stick with SY-1 because you get almost everything you’d get on the SY1000. Heck of a lot smaller too. It’s irritating setting up the SY1000

I'm surprised how much use it's getting lately. Adding in an organ or string pad during a bridge or song intro/outro is super handy, and people watching have no idea wtf is going on.

Love what it can do, which is a lot. But since it can't store presets, it's just not a stage worthy pedal for me. I can't be turning lots of knobs onstage between songs. Would love to see an upgrade to it with presets down the road.

That’d be the SY-200, which is admittedly a big step up in all directions. Agreed, even a “favorite” setting to quickly recall *that* organ sound would be great to have.

I wish I'd never bought this pedal. That weird little decay thing it does makes everything sound like mush

the SY-1 is so bad that not even its mother loves it. BUT for ambient guitar, it is awesome!!!

I think it really depends on the player and application. I use it on my bass board to add some organ fills to some songs but I agree most of its settings would be corny for rock guitar.
