I'm from England, I was born here, I live here and I've never lived anywhere else. And I can honestly say Billy Butcher's accent never bothered me, I wasn't offended and it actually sounded quite a bit like some of the people I know. Maybe I'm a little biased since Karl Urban is one of my favourite actors of all time, but I thought it was great, especially as a fan of the comics.

I would say I like The Boys just a bit more. Just more of my taste with it being darker and more comedic. I mean I fucking love Daredevil easily the best fighting scenes in any superhero show or film to date. Nothing even really comes close to it. The closest would probably be season 2 of Iron Fist as I feel like they really improved upon the martial arts. Still nowhere near the level of DD. But it wasn't hard to watch like the first season was where the combat felt way to slow and had way to many cuts. Which It think was due to the fact that they barely gave the lead actor anytime to learn his choreography.

@Robert Mitchell I didn't know how I was gonna feel about The Boys as a series. Seeing how I read the comic and really wasn't a huge fan of it. Just felt it was always trying to be way to edgy. Almost none of the characters in the comic were likable and almost all were just one dimensional with no layers to them so it was hard to be invested in them. Ennis the writer also hates Super Hero comics so much of the The Boys comics felt like him just trying his hardest to make fun of the genre. Which also meant that almost all of the Supes were just completely stupid incompetent and terrible people. Yea a lot of the supes in the show are also terrible people but at least they have layers to them and you can have some sort of emotional connection to them like with The Deep and A-Train. And then Homelander in the comics is just dumb where in the show he's much smarter. And then the actual Boys are much more fleshed out in the series. Like in the comics Kimiko and Frenchie are basically the same just two extremely violent angry killers. Where in the show Frenchie has a shit ton of layers to his character. Hughie is supposed to be the emotional crux of the comics but I never enjoyed his character in it to care much about him. Compared to the series where I really enjoy his character. And then Butcher is completely unlikable in the comics. Yea in the show he's also a complete asshole but he has enough humanity left to him that you can like his character for the most part.

30:20 I finished reading all 72 issues of The Boys a few months ago, it was very 'love/hate' for me, I really loved the dark cynical nature of the story and all the satirical commentary of the superhero genre. Where it went wrong in my view is with it's core messaging, or should I say, the way in which Ennis constantly bashes you over the face with it. Garth Ennis Is not one you look to for a story with subtlety, he deals in extreme excess with his stories often, but by the end of The Boys, Ennis has smashed you so fucking hard with is palpable vitriolic hatred of corporate America, it's hard to see much else, all up I thought it was pretty good.

As someone that hasn't watched F&F movies (except maybe most of the first one), Weekly Planet F&F chats sound like a fictional show within a show where the point is to keep making it sound more nonsensical. That is why I can't watch the franchise think the last film in it that I saw was the 2nd one. I mean this was a franchise that started out being just about racing cars on the street and stealing DVD players. To now sounding more unrealistic and crazy then most Super Hero films are. I know that's why a lot of people love the films now due to how over the top they are. It's just not something I could ever get into. Also didn't help when I heard about the drama backstage and how much of an ego they all seem to have. To the point where they had to literally come up with a system to judge fighting scenes. Think it was just Rock, Jason and Vin who literally have a system in place that makes sure none of them ever look stronger then the other in the films. And that none of them can be made to look at all weak or vulnerable in the films. Like if the Rock takes out 20 guys in the film then Vin also needs to take out at least 20.

I love the little joke in it towards the end. When it's the flashback to the party and Billy meets Homelander for the first time. I found the first big chase scene in Hobbs and Shaw (the one where they crash through the double decker bus) really distracting because it's supposed to take place in London but it was filmed in Glasgow (where I live) and you can clearly see that this 5 minute chase scene takes place only on 4 streets. I actually measured it on Google Maps when I got home and this entire chase takes place in a 640meter radius and the chase ends 196meters from where it starts. They go down the same street a couple of times so let's say they cover a distance of about 2km and that the scene lasts about 3 - 5 minutes. This means they're driving at somewhere between 15mph and 25 mph. Thrilling.

I never had a problem with them humanizing the characters in The Boys. Yea it's not gonna make me feel to bad for the terrible people. Yet I don't think that was ever the point of why they do it. I don't think they wan't you to feel bad for the characters. Instead they just want to show you why these characters are who they are. The Deep is mocked and put down all the time so any time he has a chance to hold power over someone he's gonna take it like with Starlight. A Train needs to take the drugs are else he would be kicked out of the Seven. Homelander is who he is due to the fact that he was raised in a lab and had no human interaction. And then you have Maeve and Starlight two of the only good heroes. Sure Maeve has given up on trying but she's not a bad person and has been helping Starlight when ever she needs it.

I didn't think it was made that clear. Butcher said she was raped and Mallory told him she was raped, but he didn't know the full story and she could have lied or been misinformed.
