My brothers both were part of of the UW crew in mid 70s. I am 15/16 years younger. He walked me through the boathouse and pointed out that shell and told me how special it was.

You know...some nights a wholesome, family, inspiring sports movie is just what I need. Particularly if I've run out of movies with space ships, robots, time travel, or lots of stuff exploding!

I still need to watch North Dallas Forty. I also need to watch Kansas City Bomber. I remember enjoying Necessary Roughness and Mr. Baseball when I was younger.

I love both North Dallas Forty and Slap Shot, and we sure could use Nancy Dowd today.

Great movie especially for those who read the book or rowed in school.

A nice film, aided by wholesome vibes and inspiration, both.

A perfectly fine feel good movie that I was happy I saw, it did have one fatal flaw though and that was that it had an actor play the "german leader" and it was silly (as it is in any movie that does). They shouldn't have shown him or only alluded to him (maybe show from the back), but having an actor play him and show him as much as they do, it is painfully distracting. It did start to get repetitive when they always were winning but I'm not sure how they could avoid that given the real history.

“The Boys in the Boat” Really thought this was an excellent film. I rowed in college so was interested in the true story and appreciated the book. Had an old school value to it that reminded me of great sports films from back in the day. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

James desc is fair, except if my Dad had rowed, I'd want to see the sport he puked his guts out playing! Its a good movie. Could have been great but it suffered from lack of budget. For example, the River Thames is no Lake Washington but unfortunately too expensive to film in Seattle. But better a good movie than none at all. FYI: After 11 days, Domestic Box Office Gross $28M. The film has legs. Dave P UW '80

Painfully REPETITIVE. 1) Wright down your thoughts 2) Eliminate redundence 3) Rehearse for the camera 4) Eliminate MORE 5) Release review

This movie was so disappointing. Little or inaccurate background. Subpar writing and acting. No emotional engagement for the viewers. This movie is more of a chick flick than anything. Very low budget film and it shows. It's a shame that Daniel Brown's masterpiece has come to this. Read the book to be entertained.

Chick flick? What makes you think discerning women don’t get how bad this movie represented the book.

@@shelbywoodard4493 It's the masses. Most people won't criticize a movie after they spend $80 for a family of 4. (Snacks, popcorn, gas, parking, tickets) This is justification of the money spent. Boys in the Boat was so disappointing. You only have one chance to make a great movie from a great book. Clooney and company blew it.
