Damn. That ordeal was rough. I've had a number of friends get and recover from it. Some with nothing more than light fevers, some with just the positive test. Even two that had gotten the vaccine. For one of them it was as bad as you described. I am happy you are on the mend. My Wife and daughter are in Goiania now. Daughter came up for a few weeks, they went back down together and got the J & J vax a week before leaving. They were pretty rough for one day, which was two days post vaccine. They are fine now. Working on getting my Permanent Residence for Brazil. Wifey had to get some of her papers in order down there since we live in Florida full time. Be heading down in mid to late October for vacation. Don't think we'll make it to the northeast. Think we're headed down south maybe Santa Catarina or further yet. I will definitely get to Paracuru one day in the next few years. Love to have a beer with you. Stay safe and keep eating those avacados!!

@@thebrazilianexpat4041 Got a new video idea for you. When you opt to get private healthcare in Brazil. Talk about the plans. I’ve been looking and all the major companies. Blue Cross, United Health, Cigna etc the ones USA Based. All offer it for only Brazil use at about 1/3 the cost of USA $$. Probably better when you have no out of pocket costs. So far what I have priced out is roughly $300/month. No CPF or Residency needed.

Bom Dia meu amigo! Beleza que voce voltou! I'm from LA living in Saquarema. I also own a small inn. I really freaked out by your story. I've lived here 4 yrs and have no health plan, and turned 62 last month. I do surf and feel great. I think our mayor has done a good job. I was not too worried about covid till now! My best friend just recovered, my women had a close relative and a close friend die last month. And now i watch this, and realize i don't have any plan if i get sick!! I did decide to close my pousada till November. Did you have guests or bookings during this time? I may have missed it, did you have any vacination? I got 1 oxford.

Hi Rob. Please get yourself a health plan ASAP! I’m also a surfer, go to the gym everyday. I’m basically an athlete but the COVID virus almost killed me regardless. I’m 42, you are 62, that is also something to keep in mind. We are doing quite good at the pousada. Things are starting to get back to normal. People are tired of staying at home. Open up your pousada, make some money and sign up for a health plan sooner than later! Be safe!

Do you have access to one of the mRNA vaccines (e.g. Pfizer or Moderna)? I would pay out of pocket, with preference to Pfizer. I live in Northern California with my wife who is from São Paulo. We plan on moving to São Paulo early next year. I would say that the quality of healthcare is one reason I would move to a big city. Thank you for this information. I am a CT Tech, I’ve seen the damage done by C19 first hand. This virus also attacks as a coagulator, blood clots -> amputated limbs -> strokes. I’m glad to see that you recovered. These variants are doing more damage then their older cousins. A quick recovery my friend! I lived in København for a year. I loved Scandinavia!

Thank you for your feedback! I’m on the waiting list for the Pfizer vaccine in Norway, however now that I’ve recently had the virus I can’t take the vaccine for a while because of the antibodies present in my system. Copenhagen is a beautiful city indeed 😊

Hope this helps… What Is an Expatriate? An expatriate, or ex-pat, is an individual living and/or working in a country other than his or her country of citizenship, often temporarily and for work reasons. An expatriate can also be an individual who has relinquished citizenship in their home country to become a citizen of another.

Jesus, you went through a lot. It's nice to know that you're good now. About SUS: it's never been a perfect health system (it's got lots of problems) , but it's still professional and works wonders if we consider their budget. It has become worse in the past years because Bolsonaro has cut down a lot of its budget. He subscribed to a law (passed 2 years before he took office, which he approved of back then) forbidding new investments in health and education for 20 years! Before him, there used to be more doctors and a little more money. I can tell you something without hesitation: without Bolsonaro, we would have been one of the top three countries with the highest rate of Covid vacciation in a short period of time. Not long ago, when it came to vaccination, Brazil was an example to the world.

First thing, I am glad you made it through the whole ordeal, I hope you are fully recovered now, It's the end of Oct as I write this. I have a few questions and comments. Because you were treated at a public hospital, there was no cost? Also, I have heard that Brazil was treating with Ivermectin. I was surprised they didn't use it. Many countries, other than the USA, Canada and UK, have had great success rates using it. It's too cheap, there is no money in it, which is why the West, has banned it. Got make sure those drug companies make their billions. Also, if you haven't taken the Vaccine, DON"T!! The death rate for the vaccinated is higher than the unvaccinated, despite what the media is telling us. Your own recovered immune system is more powerful than any vaccine. I just found your channel, I will get caught up.

"Many countries, other than the USA, Canada and UK, have had great success rates using it" - "The death rate for the vaccinated is higher than the unvaccinated". Where did these "pearls" come from? Are you still alive? If so then visit hospitals, morgues and research why the unvaccinated are currently dying. I wish you good health and that you get out of this denialist bubble as soon as possible.
