But CROSIER, BLAIR and others (especially the Judge in the Castleton Case) also need to be arraigned. And, might I suggest that any Juries are made up from people well away from LONDON. Angela Van Den Bogerd was specifically told she was not to approach the family of the 'bus suicide postmaster', without Alan Bates being present: and yet - having instructed Post Office that they needed to "get lawyered-up" following the suicide, this vile woman went to see the widow, alone. Jason Beer asked her why that had been her first thought. The scene is beautifully acted in the docu-drama.

Every single political party knew about this and approved of it. The OP is wrong about the board deciding their own remuneration, that was decided by senior civil servants and yet we don't even know who they are. They were the ones driving the Post Office board into these prosecution, they haven't even been brought in front of the inquirey bar one of them. They were the ones who approved the legal costs of £100 Million. We know Ed Davey whose brother worked for Cartwright King the solicitors for the Post Office was given a lucrative 'consultancy' when he left office after frustrating JFSP attempts to meet with him. None of the lawyers professional bodies have held any of them to account, and it seems unlikely they ever will. We taxpayers are footing all the bills to tune of £3 billion - false prosecutions, folk in jail, Post Office defences, couple of external audits like Second Sight, a 4 year Inquiry (everybody's costs), the compensations, then the future police investigations, prosecutions and hopefully jail.

Fantastic work! I would really like to see more content particularly around the post Grenfell building safety scandal. Many people don't understand it they think it's all about "cladding". Many people have had to cope with facing personal bankruptcy though no fault of their own. The Govt have been very slow to legislate. Personally I am trapped in my own apartment. I don't know whether it's fire safe or not. I cannot sell, I can't staircase (due to lenders refusing mortgages) meaning I have to keep paying increasing ground rent, service charges and extortionate insurance costs. I also can't rent it out because it's shared ownership. It's slowly financially destroying my wife and I. I've missed out on the chance to start a family here, I have also had to pass on career opportunities. I have no legal rights, I just need to keep paying. My shared ownership company aren't interested either, they just seem to want the money but aren't willing to even communicate with me. It's mentally exhausting, even my own family don't understand. I've been advised to "Just take Bankruptcy". It seems to be too complicated for people to understand and so I've just stopped talking about it with people. They seem to assume that I'm not doing anything to help myself and that "it can't be that bad". I often get superficial advice which in reality will not work because the situation is so complex. The trigger for all of this was a change in the law post Grenfell which was meant to address ACM flammable cladding issues. My building doesn't even have cladding and yet because there aren't qualified professionals who can assess buildings we've been on a waiting list for many years. It's looking likely that we'll be stuck here for another 10+ years. I feel like I've been financially trapped and imprisoned in my own home. The stress has taken a physical toll and I'm sure that my lifespan has been shortened as a result of this scandal. If you'd like to discuss it further could you reply with an email address? I'd be happy to give you all the details.

former postmistress Wendy Martin, 53, who was left bankrupt, said: 'Tony Blair had a very cosy relationship with Fujitsu. They were in each other's pockets. He should be held to account.' Fujitsu operated a plant in Mr Blair's Sedgefield constituency, and the politician met with the site's new manager there in 1995. The following year, he flew to Japan, where Fujitsu's bosses briefed him instead of the Tory government in power at the time about its plans to set up new laboratories in London. Two months before he signed off on the Horizon deal in May 1999, Mr Blair wrote a letter to Fujitsu's chairman Tadashi Sekizawa praising the company's 'deep and longstanding commitment to the UK'.

So it’s all Blair’s fault? All the prosecution’s subsequently are his fault? The fact the Post Office are still rolling Horizon out even though it’s still faulty is Blair’s fault. Do explain what government administrations since have done about it? That’s Blair’s fault as well I suppose.

It is slightly misleading, although factual, to describe the Horizon software as being developed by “Japanese company Fujitsu.” That makes it sound as if the post office went to a foreign company to build the software. And might even suggest that there were language difficulties. In fact, the Post Office contracted with a long-established British company, ICL, that just happened to be owned by Fujitsu. The takeover occurred in 1998, two years after the software project was begun (although it was originally designed for a different problem).

The real criminals in this are being forgotten. The software developers and internal audits would have known how poorly the system was performing. It was clearly full of bugs. Records in both Fujitusu and the Post Office IT and internal audits staff were clearly hiding on-going development issues. Its these people that hid the problems. Somehow they seem to be getting away from any blame. Its not enough for Fujitsu to apologize. IT staff and the internal audit team need to be held to account both at Fujitsu and at the PO.

You could take just that first story, and say that every single person in management in the PO and Fujitsu should be in jail. They have broken the law numerous times. Literally steeling money to change to a PO profit therefore giving themselves bonuses on that profit.

When each POL employee is introduced in the enquiry, it might be enlightening for their salary and bonuses to be be listed on screen alongside their position within Post Office Ltd. It should stay on screen throughout their session so we can make our own minds up about what they say.

Fujitsu is behind the failed Common Platform software used by Courts. It has backdoor access and no audit control, plus lots of errors that users are told they need to find a way to resolve. It causes stress for users. Teams were set up to silence anyone speaking out, to gaslight them and blame them for the endless errors and bugs. UK Government entered in to an open ended contract with payment on a continuous basis, they rent the software and have not actually bought a finished product. It is so concerning that police and CPS will not use it or link it to their systems as anyone can do what they like on it. This will be the next problem for UK Government.

Paula Vennells certainly should face justice bust so should all executives. Of course none of them will face justice. The justice or lack of it goes to government as well and clearly no cabinate minister ever has to face criminal proceedings for their criminal actions! The new gov will do nothing about it either because too many of the controlling class will protect themselves. It's a horrible class situation that defines the UK

Let's hope the 'Justice System', in the next stage after this enquiry, is as productive in it's jailing as it was for all those poor SPM's. This is a truly massive national scandal so it's not surprising no one is standing up to take their part of the blame.

After the post Office, Vennels then went onto to Chair Imperial NHS Trust and would not leave when the scandal broke, and Board members asked her to, hanging on until April 2021. Poor insight. NHS also has a poor reputation for integrity managing its staff. Employment tribunals have found NHS staff lied over and over again, even trying to change the judge when he addressed that.

Constructive dismissal laws are ignored in the UK, its very difficult to prove you have been forced out, so there is a climate of fear and what the boss says goes. If a hostile actor can slot someone into management, the firm has a serious problem - that's the gun that all this smoke is coming from.

This scandal is just so awful. If the Government wants to have the public's faith that they are accountable then every single sub-postmaster must be set free and paid hefty sums of money based on how much damage was done to them with an additional £1million on top per person as an apology. And people need to start going to jail and have their assets seized to pay the poor victims of this travesty as this money should not be coming out of the tax payer's bill. The problem is it would mean Government officials arresting and impoverishing themselves.

I’ve listened to some of he public Inquiry and there have been some scathing comments from Counsel of the witnesses, including, of Jarnail Singh “Not a man for detail, are you?” and of one of the Cartwright King barristers(?) when asked about seniority within their legal team and hearing the answer that he left it to others, “You weren’t on work experience.” I also think your criticism of Adam Crozier well-founded. 2:35 That isn’t quite right. It was not designed by the Japanese IT company Fujitsu, it was developed by ICL, a UK IT company specialising in hardware and networks and not software so much (they wrote programmes like CRISP/INDEPOL for the military). Fujitsu had purchased them as a subsidiary, prior to rebranding the whole ICL company as “Fujitsu UK” in 2002. Fujitsu still supply a large amount of subsidiary IT support to government departments such as the MOD, and are still fucking things up in plenty of sectors, a lot of the time because they’re running emulated mainframe versions of outdated COBOL coded programmes from the early eighties…in the twenty first century! What a complete cluster fuck government information technology is.

She's not alone. There was a programme in place that should be called 'the systematic targeting of individuals'. It went back to the time of Blair's tenure in office. There's no doubt, in my opinion, that the whole Fujitsu/Horizon scandal became a deliberate programme of targeting. There were very deliberate acts of sabotage, subterfuge and misrepresentation. This lead to absolute chaos and a maelstrom of scandal in hitherto law-abiding communities. It's something that people with a certain political bent have an addiction to (totalitarians). There's nothing quite like smashing the proles and the unassuming in to the dust. There were lots of ruined reputations, a flow of ill-gotten gains in to the PO's coffers, oh and some sub-human lawyers made loadsa money! Coincidence? No. Many ordinary people's lives were made unliveable - just because!
