Always some one waiting in the dark to stick out their greedy little hands...amazing she never came forward wen the man was alive.

They do'nt make men like that any more -- ' mores the pity!! Could listen to them and their lovely Irish accent right now, a world away from Brexit, Covid and the troubled world we are living in

A lot of people here being very abusive of the daughter! You know nothing of her circumstances. A whole generation of kids were brought up in institutions and we all know what happened there. Where were the fathers when all this was going on ?? If you want to be abusive direct it at the feckless fathers who took no responsibility for these children who went on to lead sad and lonely lives through no fault of their own.

Truly priceless. An ireland soon to be completely gone. My great uncles John Joe and Barney, two bachelors and pioneers lived into their 90's in Tyrone. Farming and mass were about all they knew.

I remember 3 brothers that lived on a farm near us, dad bought the farm but let them live out there days in the steading, all never married, no electricity till they died, wore the old three piece suits, they all died one after another very fast. Truly a way of life no more.

"He was the best pal I had, the best pal I had" What a lovely way to end on, a man and his dog, in one way a sad tale, in another way a happy tale.

BRILLIANT little documentary and really enjoyed it. Bit on the lines of the Hannah Hawxswell series. Its just such a shame that the world is changing so much that characters like this will disappear for ever.

The end of an era, you never see Old Folk like these today they used to gather to talk along the old roads, they would have talked for hours. Wise Old men. He’s right about a Dog they are indeed the best friend you could ever have.
