I had a '74 SR5. My friend had a '75. To me, the hardest part was putting in headers and my exhaust. The '75 had those distinctive tail lights with the 2 circles. Oh yah, my door used to rattle whenever I drove over a rough road or hit a bump. Irritating! Thanks for posting.

I had a '74 SR5 back in the day. 1600 2TC motor. Shortened shifter, polished valve cover, Isky cam. Progressive secondardy 4-barrel carb. Widened to 5" SR5 rims out back. Trim painted all black along with rims, chrome byuti rings. Electric fuel pump. MSD, Classic Turqouise color. Stocvk red pin lines up the front seats. I miss my baby.

I can relate. I'm 3 years deep in my 510 build and still not done. Just pulled the turbo to put a larger one in amongst other things... interior is only 1/2 done.. missing a dash cap and headliner. The seats still need to be re-covered, etc... cool car... i'm curious about reverse as well. Is this mated to a car's transmission or are you using the bike's?

Fender flairs would add a nice touch. I know they stopped putting them on in '74 but still think they add a lot to the look of the car. Nasty toy by the way. Did you change it over to power steering? That would also help with ease of turning a lot.

@Soundgarden8497 This corolla is a small light car, that bike engine in this car will be fkin quick make no mistake. Lots of small race cars have bike engines and will totally shame bigger cars with bigger engines. Power to weight FTW

Id think about adding a turbo with aquamist W.I. setup with the 1100 It would increase Hp drastically and the WI retards detonation and allows you to create heavenly power..

@Soundgarden8497 Search KZitem for 'z cars mini' 'radical sr8 nordschleife' 'bedford rascal part 2' all bike powered cars, all of them very, very quick. Torque not such an issue with lightweight vehicle, this KE35 is small and light I'm assuming it will stay stripped out to keep the weight down.

Why would you put a motor cycle engine and transmission in a car? Surely you could fit a car engine in?!?!
@kalargyi
12 жыл бұрын
very nice project, but the engine is around 50hp output, is it worth it?
@signaturedean
6 жыл бұрын
kalargyi ...actually, with a low red line of 11000rpm (for a bike) would indicate that it would be a 1000cc engine. Probably good for around 150hp (depending on year, health and any mods to engine) makes sense to me. Fully forged engine from the factory, loves to rev, makes more HP than the original engine at a smaller capacity.. and not too much torque, so it won't be breaking traction everytime you touch the accelerator.. unless you want it to :) only thing with doing a bike engine swap is taking off from a standing start or hill starts, clutch takes a lot of getting used to as you ride it a bit more because of the cars weight and the amount of torque the engine is producing. Apart from that, HAPPY DAYS
