I did many shows with this group as a member of Yesterday’s News. These guys really understood what harmony meant. Great blend, Incredible tightness and subtle vibrato. No needless riffing or screaming! Needless to say Earl was-a superlative lead who made you feel the lyrics that he so masterfully sang. He was a selfless, humble gentleman and us sorely missed in today’s world of really bad music

"Tell Me Today" is amazing too. For me The Cadillacs and the Crests are the best. Earl Carroll's voice is sublime. Caddies were a super group with a catalog full of great songs.

A beautiful ballad sung by the inimitable, late Earl Carroll who was lead vocalist for West Harlem's Cadillacs nearly 40 years after it release in early 1956.

This was the B Side to "Zoom" and just goes to show, it always pays to turn the record over and not just play the "A" Sides. This has got to be one of the great ballads of the era, and Earl confirm his love for it.

I've always played this tune whether by vinyl wax during the 1950's, 8 track tape during the 1970's, cassette tape in the late 1970's thru '80's, and finally via cd in the 1990's! Beautiful lyrics coupled with gorgeous melody enhanced by Earl's silky smooth vocals on lead, and the guys making up the Cadillacs during the mid-1990's who were probably Bobby Philips, Gary Lewis, Steve Brown & Eddie Jones. RIP, Bobby

And Earl joined Bobby Phillips last year in November ... two guys whose deep bond and friendship began in Harlem on 131st Street and evolved into becoming the Carnations and finally, the Cadillacs. RIP, Earl & Bobby
