Amazing work as ever. And thank you for sharing this kind of stuff - there are not enough scores and insights like this out there.

This is so epic! The leitmotif definitely brings out the aesthetic of the film! Certainly sounds like a daring adventure! And those trumpet trills are definitely familiar to me in recent film scores you've composed! Mostly How to Train Your Dragon. Kind of reminds me of stepping out of boundaries and taking the "leap" even when you're not ready. It's amazing how well your compositions tell stories! Can't wait to see more! Thank you, Mr Powell! Your music has always inspired me!

Today after watching netflix for an hour or so, with my 11 year old daughter, I've quizzed her, with this piece. I said "listen and tell me who is the composer" after 15 or 30 seconds she said "KungFu Panda!" It is meant as a compliment. Don't misunderstand me. Your style is so stylish and distinguished. I love it!! As always, thanks for sharing the piano roll with us.. :)

Are you using a metronome when recording a live orchestra?
@ThomasKubler

Yes. It's called a click track, and it's necessary for the recordings to be synchronized with the pictures and with whatever overdubs are needed

A various mix. He posts his template on his insta I believe. Woodwinds are primarily Spitfire Symphonic. Brass is Berlin Brass and Cinebrass. Strings are mostly Cinematic Studio Strings

What you're seeing is the visual representation of what John played into his computer through a MIDI keyboard when he composed the song. What you're hearing when it says "Demo" is the MIDI sounds that are generated by the computer (they sound very realistic). What you're hearing when it says "Final Mix" is the actual recording of the live orchestra that they used in the movie. If you listen closely, when it changes from "Demo" to "Final Mix" the sound of the recording seems to "open up" and sound more full and wide. Hope this helps :)

Moving Pictures It may be! It’s crazy how realistic libraries are these days though. I wouldn’t be surprised if it was a library that’s on the market.
