Want to note down: Guthrie doesn’t care about KZitem, still plays at small pubs or big venues for big crowds, stopped teaching 10 years ago. For him its just playing for people with people in an organic environment. Both ways are legit in my opinion, different routes to carrier. What works best for people. Guthrie is one of a kind, legendary player. I am also big fan of Tom, amazing player and teacher.

When Martin said that he prefers recording a jam and putting it on KZitem to potentially millions of viewers, vs doing a gig at a club for 50 people That reasonings sounds so healthy to me! What a great video! I really like hearing great musicians talk about the realities of touring these days and comparing it to online venues. In 2001 my wife was a grad student at the Colorado School of Mines. She called me very excited because the following spring Asleep at the Wheel was playing a concert at the college. We bought tickets #1 & #2. When the day came we were in the middle of the third row, just where I wanted to be. There were only 4 or 5 other people in the back of an auditorium with 500 seats. The Wheel did a complete show with no short cuts, but I was astounded that in a metro area of 1.5 million there were only a half dozen people attending. I draw more at a local arts center in a town of 2,000. I did get Ray Benson's pick at the end of the show & framed it with the tickets and program. By the way, I have been lusting after one of those hand wired amps from that little shop in North Carolina for several years.
