Troy inspired me to get a Jazzmaster. I looked at a Fender Pro and also his signature model and they're amazing. They were too expensive for me so I got the J. Mascis Jazzmaster and that's great too.

@@LittleFoilFish The build quality of my J Mascis is on a par with my 2016 American Standard Strat. I think the Chinese factory must take a certain pride in producing this model as can be judged by the consistent levels of positive feedback. Cool interview. Always thought that part of Josh’s reticence to divulge his gear came from what happened to the Ovation GP after he became famous and it was recognised that that was the guitar he played. It went from a fairly unsuccessful, relatively cheap on the second hand market, discontinued niche model to suddenly in demand and with prices escalating significantly such as to make it hassle for Josh to source and justify buying them to continue to use as touring guitars simply because he made them famous and desirable. If I was him I’d shut up about what I played too, especially if it was discontinued gear. 🤷🏼♂️

Need to raise the bridge and shim the neck for action to prevent strings from popping off the saddles. They were designed with archtops in mind. Need more break angle from the strings coming off the tremolo tailpiece to the bridge. Don't feed the 'jm/jag bridges need to be upgraded to mustang bridges' - myth if you are not setting up a guitar as intended. Every time someone disses a jm/jag bridge without knowing how to set up, a kitten dies. Hehe.
