That is a really interesting sound horn dating back around 2000 years ago. If I had one made, it'd be of a dragon.

Merci ! Je travail moi même le métal et je pense me servir de vos vidéos comme une base de réflexion pour la fabrication d'un carnyx. :)

Metal working is a unique craft. Possibly a lost craft. I imagine you have seen what Abraham Cupeiro has made and the music he produced

What would you say are the attributes of this instrument that most affect the sound it makes?
@samuelmeric-lobrador4580
Ай бұрын
@@CyrusOfNaias the shape and dimensions of the mouthpiece, the diameter and length of pipes. With wind instruments, the sound is directly affected by the shape of the pipes. It's very different to string instruments where the sound is affected by the material you are using, because on string instruments the instrument itself vibrates to make the sound. But on wind instruments it's the air inside that vibrates to make the sound. So only the porosity of the material will affect the sound. A carnyx in brass, bronze, copper, steel or silver will make the same sound because metals have the same porosity.

Mercé! Èra plan simple le set up. Duas mandarinas de cada costat, ambe de gelat roja sus l'una e blua sus l'autra. Una lampa d'obrador sul morre del costat gaucha, e una lampa petita sul costat gaucha tanbes, mes mei al mietg.
