Karen had the most beautiful voice of our generation. Her music has a way of touching us in a way that is so deep it goes right to your heart. This is one of those songs. If you have ever felt what it is truly like to be in love, this is the musical equivalent.

I've never heard this before now. There'll never be another like her, but at least we were blessed to have her while we did. It's too bad she lived in so much pain but was probably happiest when she was using her gift from up above.🎶🙏

My sweet sister sent this video to me a few months ago when I was feeling down. She wrote, "how could anyone mean more to me than you, sissy?" She died a week ago today and the pain is unbearable. I am dedicating this song back to her today. So Teri, this is for you. And I promise that no one will EVER mean more to me than you, my little baby. Your sissy loves you. You are the one who makes me happy When everything else turns to grey Yours is the voice that wakes me mornings And sends me out into the day You are the crowd that sits quiet Listening to me And all the mad sense that i make You are one of the few things worth remembering And since it's all true How could anyone mean more to me than you Sorry if sometimes i look past you There's no one beyond your eyes Inside my head wheels are turning Hey, sometimes I'm not so wise You are my heart and my soul my inspiration Just like the old love song goes You are one of the few things worth remembering And since it's all true How could anyone mean more to me than you You are my heart and my soul my inspiration Just like the old love song goes You are one of the few things worth remembering And since it's all true How could anyone mean more to me than you

@1VoiceOfReazon Agree 100% with you & if I can add this is one of the reasons they still have not gotton into the Rock N' Roll Hall of Fame, grant it some close people within the Carpenter Posse (Not mentioning any names, no way) know it's not only a political rebellious against the Carpenters, but a key factor is that RC doesn'r put their music on the informercials, like the time Life, or Kiss anyones ass. I say good for Richard, keep being an individual.

Feb. 4. Well said, Willie Sonnet 18 Shall I compare thee to a summer's day? Thou art more lovely and more temperate: Rough winds do shake the darling buds of May, And summer's lease hath all too short a date: (…) But thy eternal summer shall not fade Nor lose possession of that fair thou owest, Nor shall Death brag thou wander'st in his shade, When in eternal lines to time thou growest: So long as men can breathe or eyes can see, So long lives this, and this gives life to thee.

As I listen to this song, I realize that this is the way I wanted love to feel. Soft and gentle, a giant audio hug. I know by now it is cliche, but it really does invoke the feelings of sitting together with that special someone by the fireplace or walking hand in hand on the beach. Karen was the perfect singer of love songs, I so miss her.

Listening to this today, on the occasion of my parents’ 25th wedding anniversary (this was the song playing in their wedding video). It brought back so many fond memories, as well as the loved ones no longer with us. Music truly has the power to capture that special feeling, which I haven’t experienced in a very long time. I remember replaying 1:54 so many times because it played as it showed the part where my mum looked really beautiful in her wedding dress as she walked out of the bridal suite accompanied by my grandma and (late) grandpa. Truly, a beautiful link to the past. 😌

Thank you for the very nice video. A lot of time and work went into it. "You" is a good song. Very nicely written and arranged. I love the way Karen sounded like she was right in the room with you. There are a lot of great singers but no one can come close to that "sitting next to you" feeling she produces through the speakers. And this is with 1970's audio technology. Think of what she would sound like today.
