We attended many of the Cathedrals concerts years ago. Loved to hear George and the group sing 'This Old House '. 😊 Thank you for your reaction

Can't miss with great harmonies, reminding each other about the future that awaits the faithful while having fun. Always good to see you laughing and smiling Lyle.

Ok so I grew up only listening to southern gospel music. I’m a homeschooled Baptist pastors daughter. I was obsessed with The Cathedrals growing up. The tenor (Ernie) on this song is George’s son in law. The pianist is Roger Bennett. He sadly passed away of cancer sometime ago. I used to go to so many Cathedrals concerts! I miss George and Glen (the older gentlemen) and Roger. I played a piano piece of Roger’s for my high school graduation.

After the Cathedrals retired and members passed away, Ernie Haase (the goofy tenor on the right) started Ernie Haase and the Signature Sound which is a fantastic group in their own right. They do some of the same songs that the Cathedrals did but also do many, many others. They would be another group to react to under David Phelps and Friends. Here is a link where the GVB (Marshall Hall lead on this song) and Ernie Haase and the Signature Sound sing together, on a cruise I believe.

Other quartets from this era worth listening to are the Speer Family and the LeFevres/Nelons. Brock Speer and Rex Nelon were great bass singers like George Younce, but George's deep resonance is legendary.
