I'm 62 yrs old, and I've been playing guitar since 1974, both electric and acoustic. ( Began singing & playing harmonica by age 6, which evolved into blues harp by adulthood. ) Self-taught via watching & learning from the greats and seasoned local musicians. Right from the start with guitar, I always play & sing. Joined and founded or co-founded several full-on R&R bands playing electric and acoustic & gigged all over east/central Florida for over 20 years. ( Only 20+ yrs due to marriage & raising a family. ) But all throughout, my first love has & always will be acoustic guitar as a solo act or duo. I've always strived for perfection both in playing and singing.........and I'm here to tell you, after stumbling across this video tutorial, you have got to be one of the very best teachers I've ever encountered. SUBBED!!!

Justin I can't thank you enough for the incredible instruction you provide. The level and amount of content has been outstanding and your infectious and humble character instead of ego and showing off by many others would be hard to match. I am 70 yrs. old and started watching your videos 18 months or more ago and I have gone from zero to being asked to perform with several bands in that time, and I owe it all to you. I suppose I am proof that you are never to old if you enjoy doing what you do and have great instruction to help you. Thank you and keep up the good work.

Novice here - enjoying the song. One fun trick I noticed was that during the chorus on the G minor chord, if you go back and forth between the 5th fret and 3rd fret on the 6th string you can mimic the bassline - on the “if you don’t love me now” part use your thumb to hit that 3rd fret and hold the rest of the chord

Great arrangement - so much fun. To add the repeated 'd' while playing the bass riff, play it at the 7th fret of the g string. You can play the bass riff without changing to use open strings. Alternate RH index/middle while doing the bass. I found it easier than changing my LH fingering of the bass notes.

Hey Justin! How's one of the best YT teachers and the one I most refer my students to doing? Been following since you were teaching sitting on the ground cross-legged ;) If I might suggest... uh hum...if you borrow from the classical guitar world and refer to your right hand fingers as index, middle and ring it eliminates possible confusion with frets and left hand fingers, which are always numbers of course. Cheers!!

Great lesson, Justin! I tried a couple other KZitem instructors before coming here - none offer as in-depth a tutorial as you do - especially when it comes to the complex finger-picking this particular song requires - great job mate!!! I remember when the RUMORS LP came out in the 70s...I was in grade seven at the time and I think ever kid in my grammar school owned a copy of this LP - I just started listening to it again recently and am really amazed at just how good Lindsey Buckingham really is - I think he is one of the most underrated guitarists of the last fifty years - Keep of keeping on Justin - you really are one of the top instructors on the web - good on ya mate!!!

The best guitar instructor on KZitem and, if you can't follow Justin, you're probably in need of more practice to scale-up in guitar skills. For me, I'm in dire need of a scale-up in my finger-picking which just takes time and practice until the connections between my my brain and fingers develop and decide to work together (ie. the Autobahn wasn't created in just 1 day).

Double dropped D tuning and putting a capo on the 2nd fret to bring back the two strings to E minor! Crazy! No need!👆Even Lyndsey Buckingham plays it in D minor with just the low E string dropped to D ie a whole tone. See the Dance (1997) video! No need for capo. Better sustain and longer string length without the need for a capo!
