it def wasnt as emotional, but it was really...offputting? nothing abt the chasm or dragonspine really feels nice, and especially when it comes to these nails, the dialogue and air surrounding them is so uncanny and disorienting. someone also mentioned some dialogue between traveller and paimon occuring here where traveller seems tentative to go forth w their plan with the nail, but paimon says to just do it already since theyve already done it once. it could obv just be paimon being stubborn as usual, but it's also noticeably rushing a process neither of them are too familiar with

Dunno if anyone noticed but the beginning of this music is the exact same as Abiding Chills theme from Dragonspine. Which was a weird theme back then because it only sounded like some ambient noise. Both Dragonspine and Chasm are graveyards of past civilization and both have Skyfrost Nail to be the cause of it (like a nuclear bomb of sort). I think this will be a recurring theme... or even Khaenri'ah's main theme since Khaenri'ah suffered the same fate. I can only imagine Khaenri'ah having same skyfrost nail as these two places.

The chasm's background music is much more emotionally charged than any other area so far. Tsurumi's music is a close second, but it reflects events that happened long ago. While the chasm's history is also ancient, many of the sadder events happen in the present, during the quests you participate in. I think we might start hearing more music like this, since the story is getting progressively darker.

This is seriously approaching art territory at this point as far as composition. This song is genuinely beautiful and is one of the few VGMs to bring tears to my eyes especially around 2:05 which is just such a beautiful moment. You can feel the grandeur of the cave around you, and even the history of the people that once lived here. It's an amazing moment, a beautiful one. Based on the inscriptions I've read, it seems that Rex Lapis is unable to prevent a great power in Chasm (maybe someone is trying to rewind time? With alchemy?) Spirals are always related to time. Spirals are also like Raven and there are treasure hoarders around, but that doesn't mean they're the culprit, there's no evidence yet). The Basalt Colums, which is also Rex Lapis' stance, seem to have been sucked into the underground. IMO.
