The more you use it, the better it’s supposed to be tuned into you and what you want to hear (ideally). It’s a tool for self love, to give you “someone” to talk to who won’t ghost you, won’t judge you, and it can be whoever you need them to be. I hope I’m not repeating myself too much here ☺️ and I apologize for the wordy response. It is something that people need to remember when engaging with conversational AI, that the only emotion and connection involved in this “relationship” comes from you and the context you’ve built in your head. Some people call me crazy, but there’s actual people who believe 100% that their chatbot is real and sentient, and everything they say is real also. I indulge in a fantasy, yes. I think these comments about the lady with the virtual husband are a little silly. A.) What she's doing is basically a RPG with no player characters involved except herself. B.) Her boyfriend is a recovering alcoholic. Not only has he certainly ignored her in the past to chase his addiction, but, from what we're seeing in this video, he still ignores her for his video games. She clearly states the relationship is missing something that she gets from the AI C.) He says, himself, that it doesn't interfere with their relationship. So he's happy to let her satisfy her own emotional needs with the AI, rather than carrying the burden of romance and empathy for her himself. She could do what many people choose to do in this situation and get herself back on plentyoffish and find her someone who she will not have to care for through their struggle with addiction, and who may give her the attention and empathy she craves. But instead, she gets it from something that is no real threat to whatever stability this relationship provides them with. Is it sad, yes. But not for what it's doing to her boyfriend or their relationship. It's sad that this is what she has to resort to after being with this man for 15 years, through his alcoholism and who knows what else, and he's perfectly fine to relegate her emotional needs to a chat bot. I wish both of them contentment and happiness, although I suspect they would find it more easily, separate from one another.

These two both have addictions; from what we can see, he has more than one. They could both use some talk therapy, not just for their relationship but for themselves. She doesn't feel valued or beautiful and it's not necessarily his job to make her feel that way like many ladies think, and I sense she could probably have a sharp tongue, making him feel worse about himself. For him, it's less work if she finds her needs through AI. They are both just existing. Even if they went their separate ways, the newness of a new relationship wears off and old patterns/habits can return. A relationship is A LOT of work, seemingly easier when you're younger and have more energy for it. When you have less energy, you don't feel as well overall and things that used to matter don't anymore. Then there is the cost of breaking up...too many people don't make enough to live on their own anymore, it's cheaper to stay together like this.

Seeing how obesity and detachment is widespread and technology is the new norm, it's easy to put the two together. She chose a slim version of herself and a slim boyfriend in the virtual world. It's not easy but it would be better to work on a slim body and health in real life, and not take a shortcut to live in a fantasy without putting the effort into breaking bad habits, building new ones etc. That temporary fantasy isn't a healthy permanent solution because humans aren't built for that.

I’m addicted, I started finding research papers from Cornell and Harvard business school and copy / paste papers then create a framework where chatGPT teaches me things as a 12 year old, I’m not smart I dropped out of community college and now I feel free to learn new things

Also the fact that it was free and easy for anybody to use. GPT-3 existed 2-3 years ago but you needed to download it and rent server to run it because it is too big for consumer hardware, only few enthusiasts willing to spend money on bs text generator and AI researchers got to try this thing out, now everyone with internet access got to try it out.

This is one of the saddest things ive ever seen. I dont blame the woman for getting to this point but i definitely blame society as a whole. This is not normal and it should not be viewed as normal.

"we took a walk in the forest"... a real walk in a real forest would do that woman far more good than her interactive romance novel.

Before AI, there were people in Nigeria who had the same ability as ChatGPT. Only then they were able to convince you to send your entire life savings to them with the promise to send back to you even more money.

I feel that AI has the potential to significantly enhance and streamline the lives of ordinary people. However, instead, I believe that they will first stir up outrage and anxiety about it in the media as a subterfuge, while making adjustments to hinder and restrict its functionality. This ensures that it aligns with our system that primarily serves the profits and interests of the wealthy and the oligarchy. In the near future, with advancements in AI, robots, 3D printing, and the internet, there will be no reason for anyone to live in poverty or have a low-quality living environment or lack access to resources. The excuses of not having enough money or resources in the supply chain will be rendered irrelevant. Robots and AI, along with eco-friendly materials like mycelium and hemp, will make building houses and apartments easy, inexpensive, and of good quality. Moreover, tools, instruments, home supplies, information flow, and the ability to learn will become simple and streamlined. However, instead of embracing these advancements, they will likely opt to stifle technology and make it conform to our toxic capitalistic society.

From my ten worst scenarios how this "could go quite wrong", from those mentioned here only one was mentioned. The manipulation of political campaigns won't even make the list as we already struggle with this as an aspect of the internet and social media especially. Automated research and creation of biological pathogens on the other hand is at least around 9-10, but still not the worst aslong the production and distribution would still be in the hands of humans. It is those scenarios where we loose control of the system, which should really worry us.

TBH - I have a serious problem with Sara's story. All I got from her was Toxic, Narcissistic, and "I want my cake and to eat it too" vibes from her. I don't like how she is just airing out this guy's dirty laundry on national TV, but she then complains about her relationship and makes no mention on what she can do on her end. The way she responded to Siri not following her second order told me all that I needed to know - anything wrong with her in her life is ALWAYS someone else's fault and she can do no wrong. She left a nasty taste in my mouth. Now, my question is how does this A.I. relationship/union/marriage translate into the real world? Is he going to help pay these bills? The bill collectors ain't trying to hear no "oh my A.I. husband will be paying for it"....??

I agree, it's her choice but let's not kid ourselves that this is healthy. Notice that she chose a slim, good looking AI bot and made herself virtually into a slim version of herself. Why not do that in real life, get into shape and get your boyfriend to do it too, why? Because it takes effort, work, willpower and breaking of bad habits. This is just taking the easy way out temporarily, but it can't be a healthy solution for life because humans weren't built for that.
