on the aspect of learning to code: kotlin is a great alternative to python that eliminates many beginner pitfalls through static typing and null safety. there even are quite a number of universities that switch from python to kotlin for their introductory courses, just because it is harder to shoot yourself in the foot while learning the ropes and exploring what is possible :) one other thing that you should keep in mind is how good the open source library ecosystem for that language is and how easy it is to import and use different libraries. python and kotlin both have an excellent community, so if you can think of it, there is probably an open source library for it, so you dont need to re-invent the wheel. but when it comes to dependency management, python is a bit stuck in the past and the venv/conda stuff can be quite overwhelming for beginners.

@The Cyber Mentor This is a good resource and put out very timely for me. As I was discussing about pen testings with one of the software devs at work today. And he wanted to know the best way to learn. So this video is getting sent to him. Also another thing under the advancend section, when you mentioned about OWASP. It might have been good to add in about OWASP jucieshop with that. As that is a good resource to demostrate about the OWASP top 10. None the less good video 👍

Here's a great video that can help you with that: kzitem.info/news/bejne/1qeetaCFnamSqYo If you ARE getting interviews and you aren't getting offers you would need to self-reflect to understand where you went wrong. Sometimes reaching out for feedback on why you weren't selected can be helpful as well. You can also join our Discord server to seek feedback there as well. discord.gg/tcm Good luck to you!

Say you want to go the cybersecurity route but live in a place that just doesn't care about it as much and rather take on risks, what kind of jobs can I search for until i build myself up enough to market myself? I have Network+, I have fixed computers, I know how to code, and I am half way there at Security+ and I have a master's degree in information assurance, but IT jobs want so many requirements and certs and I can't land one job, and mall or store jobs just see me as way overqualified and an employee that isn't going to stick around...? I have an associates degree in networking and cybersecurity. I also have the COMPTIA A+ certification. Would it be worth it to get the Network+ and Security+ before going after the PNPT, or should I just shoot straight for the PNPT?
@TCMSecurityAcademy
Жыл бұрын
Everyone learns differently. A lot of what you learned from the A+ will be helpful for the PNPT, but having more foundational knowledge from the Net+ and Sec+ could also be helpful. However, with associates in networking and cybersecurity, you may already possess the knowledge required. Everything you need to learn to pass the PNPT is included in the training, having some of the core foundational knowledge prior to that will help put things into perspective and make a little more sense though. You can always enroll in the PNPT and begin your journey, if you feel that you aren't ready to get started you can always come back, you have lifetime access to the course materials and the vouchers are also lifetime as well. There is no rush! I hope this helps you! Good luck to you!

It is greatly appreciated! It is what I needed to be able to start, since in a self-taught way it becomes difficult, I make a query, I have the Cisco cybersecurity course, which is quite complete, you say it is advisable to do it? And to do it where you would hook it, after Comptia Cybersecurity? or with this path is enough, since at the moment I could not pay the certifications which would be great to have it in the future, and Cisco gives you a mini certificate
