You are definitely improving in your skill set. Really glad to see someone reviewing these bikes off road, that has experience with a true Emtb. I see many reviews talking about how wonderful these things are off road. Truth be told they, are not in the same league as a real true electric mountain bike. That does not make them bad, a true Emountain bike would be blown away on the Greenways and cycling trails, or commuting. Let’s not put them in the same ballgame as a specific, E mountain bike. They are playing a different game, and that game, they play well. Let’s just be honest about what to get emails.

An emtb is definitely using a surgical knife for surgery. It's made to do one thing and one thing well. You are correct, I would not run around Chicago on it! I love the versatility of all these bikes but I feel someone has to test them out to see what they can do, so I am glad you appreciate the effort. Thanks for watching!

@@scotthardesty the talk to text, just doesn’t understand southern slang. Not sure what was going on at the end of my first message. Please do not think I was being critical of your review. I actually think your reviews are pretty honest. What I’m talking about is the many reviews out there that talk about this type of bike like it is for serious, off-road. You said it right, very versatile. Jack of all trades, master at none. Some other reviewers I have viewed would have you believe this type of bike is a master at all trades. Again, I appreciate your honest reviews. have a good day.

@@scotthardesty I have a Aventon Aventure 2. It has been a lot of fun and allowing me to go places that I have not normally went on a bike before but it is a very heavy bike as well. How would you compare it to the Cheetah?
@scotthardesty
Жыл бұрын
@@paulzettler5574 I took my Aventure 2 on this same trail and had a super fun time. Although it is also heavy, because it is shorter, it doesn't feel as heavy as the thumb throttle is a lot safer (for me) going thru sharp turns. I think my Aventure 2 is a ball on single tracks. Not sure if you saw that video but I had a great time. The really fun part starts at 7:28. kzitem.info/news/bejne/zXmBz3ycgJN8aH4

I've had nothing but trouble with the rear fender and cross threading so I gave up putting it on. Overall I feel how it attaches (especially the front one) is pretty poor. I got this bike about 4 weeks ago and shifting to first gear jammed the chain between the sprocket and the hub no further than 20 ft on my first ride. After much struggling to remedy that issue and learning a lot in the process, I attempted to contact them about both issues but they still haven't returned my call. Needless to say I'm pretty annoyed since this is my first ebike purchase. Now the front or rear suspension is making a cracking sound that I need to investigate. I'm not sure what the deal is here, but I wish I had a direct contact to them. I feel like I got a lemon straight out from the box. -_-

That back fender is rough for sure. I even checked the reviews on their website and others mentioned issues with rear fender as well. The other reviews show the bikes without fenders. If you notice in the video, the Cheetah started to creak and make noises as well. I wish you luck on getting those issues out. Even I don't have a direct contact for support with Haoqi.

Great video! Its for sure a beefy & really long ebike (especially relative to ebikes like the Aventon Aventure.2). Also, I spent about 30 mins trying to install the rear fender and ended up quitting haha. I hear Haoqi is now shipping the Cheetah with the rear fender installed.

So which bike would you say is best doing those trails... The Aventon Aventure 2 with torque sensor or the Cheetah with cadence sensor and rear suspension?
@scotthardesty
Жыл бұрын
The Aventure 2. I'm not a fan of a twist throttle on a single track, plus the length of the Cheetah makes it harder to maneuver. The A2 even though it is a hardtail, doesn't feel as heavy, easier to make turns and that torque sensor makes getting "PAS Power on Demand" a plus in my book.
@18andlikeit

@@scotthardesty thanks Scott, I've watched all of your videos of your reviews on your A2, very informative. I already have 2 ebikes, a 500w hub motor bike and a 750w mid drive bike, both cadence sensors. I've been researching fat tire bikes and I'm pretty sure I want a torque sensor on it, not sure I need rear suspension. I've looked hard at the A2 and a few other ones. Just want to make the best educated decision on which one is the best for me. Looking forward to more of your videos. 👍

No offense. I only say this because it sounds like you don't like the half twist on the bike. It must be a thing that these come with a thumb throttle on the wrong side left and the rear brake on the the right where the front brake should be. I think we should make a stand now and separate from the puritans bikers who probably hate ebikers anyways and follow the motorcycle controls layout. I'm new to ebikes , I love it and plan to doo it from here on out. I had to trashcan the thumb throttle for a half twist right grip and switched my hydrolic tubes so now my front brake is right hand and rear is left like it should be.

@@sdshawn29 Ah, I hadn’t been on a bike for 40 years before this and when I got my first bike, it showed up with the thumb throttle and brakes that way. I totally forgot it’s different on a motorcycle so didn’t notice. The main reason I don’t like a half twist throttle is because I find I don’t want to pedal it near as much… and of course I find it easier to control the power on a MTB trail,
@sdshawn29

Ok, see, that's where you threw me and why I added the first comment. It should be second nature riding in, especially off-road conditions. I grew up on dirt bikes my whole life now on street fighter now. That's the main reason I would not want to train my brain on the opposite brake layout and then get into a panic situation at high speeds that could be a problem. Anyways, I don't want to beat this horse. And I did like the review .
