Loved the teaching. Top notch. I can tell people about this send them the links to these videos and except for the very few people that come to my bible study they won't receive the teaching and avoid me like the plague. Oh well... I am happy I can hear it! :0)

Then why did Jesus say to go and make disciples of all nations baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son, Holy Spirit? Baptism seems pretty fundamental for each believer

thank you so much for up loading this!!!!! I attend the Salvation Army and we do not baptize with water. William Booth did not see it necessary for salvation. But I was wondering where it came from and why the other churches emphasized it so much. And then I was watching the Naked Archeologist and he showed us the Jewish baptismal "tank" and was wondering the connection.

Dying to the flesh is not an unconscious action that just happens upon believing in Jesus Christ for salvation. It has everything to do with choice/free will. The gospel should never be preached without including the message of repentance. Without preaching repentance there is no gospel, but another gospel. Without repentance, there is no baptism of the Holy Spirit. Spirit baptism is conditional. It has to do with the condition of the heart. If a man is dead in his sins, but is happy to hang on to that condition, he cannot receive the rebirth of the Spirit; The washing of PURE water. All who hear a TRUE gospel will be put into the position of knowing they are in sin, and need to repent. All who do so, are able to receive the rebirth of the Spirit. That is why baptism of the Holy Spirit becomes a necessity . Because all who BELIEVE Jesus, is commanded to be HOLY, as he is holy. And no one can be holy without the Holy Spirit. Those who believe, but do not repent shall be cut off as branches to be burned if they do not yield spiritual fruit. You can only bear spiritual fruit if you are alive in the Spirit. If you are spiritually dead, you will not/can not bear fruit, and will be cut off, or told "I never knew you".

Water washings (baptism) was associated and had it's genesis in the law and the prophets. Like many of the rituals of the law, it was a shadow that would be fulfilled in the reality that is Christ Jesus our Lord. Here's a point. Chris Jesus suffered John's baptism. A baptism of cleansing. He was identified with sinners. He fulfilled that ritual. Why? He did it for YOU. By the operation of God, you were placed INTO Christ. His obedience, His death, His resurrection, His life.By grace.

Think you all need to read the scriptures again, just read the book of Acts which is new testament. What is with being so stubborn to do something that Jesus commanded? Rather the Baptist for example think with some easy sinners prayer that you're saved and guaranteed a ticket to heaven no matter what you do. Read Acts chapter 2 and if that doesn't convince you then I can throw out plenty more in the new testament scriptures saying the same. Ask Jesus to come into your heart isn't scriptural at all but baptism is. Why do you call yourselves baptists ? Repent and be baptized...not..I believe you exist

1st Peter 3:21, Acts 2:38, Romans 6, Galatians 3:26-27, Col 2:12. Baptism didn't exist in the OT. It started with John, but that was only a preparation for the coming of Christ. Christian baptism, being buried with Christ to rise to newness of life, and be saved, was instituted by Christ for after his resurrection, and is taught in all the above Scriptures as absolutely necessary for salvation. Nobody reading those verses will deny it, unless they hate Christ.

***** Because you're a nut. Anyone can arbitrarily divide scripture up and say this part no longer applies. But there are only two "dispensations" if you want to call them that: the Old Testament and the New Testament. And Acts 2 is clearly the New Testament. There's no point arguing with someone so far out there. I mean, if you asserted that God is a space alien, should the burden of proof be on me to disprove that from Scripture? Of course not. Your idiotic claim is equivalent to that!

an interesting question is when the nation of Isreal was intended to be a nation of priest and Jesus was their high Priest, did that include women?, because women were not in the priesthood. So did John baptism any women in Israel?

households were baptized and households included women and some children who were believers. Philippian jailor and his household (Acts @), Crispus and Gaius (1 Cor. @), and the household of Stephanas (1 Cor. @). But these are in the NT. Women are not to be preachers as in the head of a church or to lead men but women are all called to be preachers of the gospel and share the scriptures and salvation of Christ will all people. Perhaps "a nation of priests" is referring to all people who are saved, including women who are believers.

I don't think I would say John preached baptism as we preach the cross. John did say , when he saw jesus that he was the lamb of God that taketh away the sin of the world. John also preached that Jesus was the lamb to be sacrificed. No water or animal sacrifices in the Old testament saved anyone or remitted any sin. They were shadows and types of the reality, as in Hebrews 9 we read no washings could make the person perfect as pertaining to the conscience. But the saving baptism into Christ is the answer of a good conscience. This inward witness and reality in all believers is by the resurrection of Jesus Christ and through faith in the operation of God we all come to be baptized into Christ by the resurrection. If we also are risen with Christ we have the two fold witness. We have the belief in the literal resurrection of jesus as accepted of God and the inner life being risen with him.

The apostle Paul was baptized by Annanias (Acts 9:17-18). The apostle Paul baptized a few of his converts....the Philippian jailor and his household (Acts 16:33), Crispus and Gaius (1 Cor. 1:14), and the household of Stephanas (1 Cor. 1:16). Water baptism is not under the law. It is an NT church ordinance, as well as the Lord's Supper.

Paul was a Hebrew and he baptized Jews. It wasnt uncommon for jews to "wash away sins with water." But upon further revelation from Christ. he quit baptizing. Annanias wasnt given the Gospel of the Grace of God, Paul was.

This man is a little confused about the law. As though living unto the law was sinful. Jesus fulfills the law. If we are in Jesus, we are keeping all of the law. The law was our school master to teach us how we are not to sin, but to be obedient to God's word; his commandments. God still expects this of us; to keep ourselves from sin, and to remain obedient to Him. BEWARE OF A LAWLESS GOSPEL.

A "Bible Church" should probably know the bible: And as they went on their way, they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said, See, here is water; what doth hinder me to be baptized? And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. And he commanded the chariot to stand still: and they went down both into the water, both Philip and the eunuch; and he baptized him. Acts 8:36-38 KJV)

There was NO water baptism in the Old Testament Law... the Jews adopted (as a custom unrelated to Divine guidance) the custom of baptizing proselytes seven days after their circumcision. A series of specific interrogations made it possible to judge the real intentions of the candidate who wished to adopt the Jewish religion. After submitting to these interrogations, he was circumcised and later baptized before witnesses. In the baptism, he was immersed naked in a pool of flowing water; when he rose from the pool, he was a true son of Israel. After their baptism, new converts were allowed access to the sacrifices in the Temple.
