Great observation. There is deeper history regarding churches (especially in the ICC) that’s not touched upon. I can’t wait to hear your thoughts on the churches favorite verse, Matthew 28:19-20.

@@ItsALiving19 I’ve already talked about their discipleship study :/. Jk I’m most likely going to do a live stream next week speaking on every ICC objection/scripture they use (not exhaustive tho)

What, the ICC's erroneous take that you have to 1/ decide to be a disciple 2/ get baptized 3/ get discipled? It's not a chronological ordering ;) There's only one imperative (or command) in Matthew 28:18-20 and the two attendant participles (βαπτίζοντες , διδάσκοντες). The equivalent is to say "I clean my house, vacuuming and doing dishes." We don't expect I clean my house first and vacuum and then do dishes. We might insert a preposition "by" i.e., "I clean my house, by vacuuming and by doing dishes."
