"There are so many wonderful places in the world that are stunning in their beauty of scenery, rich in history and unique sights. But there is only one place that is dear to your heart, with streets that you've known since childhood. Your family and friends live here."
- Marina Gerasimova, All-Russian Lermontov Prize laureate, Lermontov All-Russian Prize and Mtsyri All-Russian Contest of Young Poets
"Director Aleksey Makeev did not go the way that has become traditional in recent times, when the visuals are commented in such detail that one does not need to look - he stepped back for one purpose: to return to the school of the masters of the past - when the visuals allowed you to fully understand the idea behind the film and experience the whole gamut of feelings. Of course, the director was making this film for his countrymen, who had left their hometown. Maybe, after watching the film, they will remember their small motherland and call their parents, who remained there...
The author, on the one hand, shows one day of real life of his native city, where factories are working, trains are rushing along the tracks, children are learning, very young children after kindergarten walk with their mothers, and in the evening the city is immersed in the already pleasant bustle. On the other hand, we see the whole year, how summer replaces winter, and then spring comes again. And here we want to pay attention to the change of seasons in the static plans, the season changes, but the city remains. With this, the director wanted to show us the supremacy of time over human bustle. The world, they say, is bustling, but the time goes its own way and you, dear friends, no matter what kind of kings of nature you feel you are, you have to adjust to it.
Technically there is a lot of hard work in the film, so the work looks fascinating not only to those familiar with Penza.

The project started in 2012 with my first experiments with timelapse techniques. At that time I was just beginning to look for ways to capture as much emotion as possible from the atmosphere of the city where I was born, through the visuals. After the 2nd video first showed in January 2014 and won several awards afterwards, I started working on a short film. In 2017, the main filming was completed, but due to circumstances, the project went into the archive. In 2018, a short video based on the draft version of the film was released.
And now, three years later, the film has been completely remastered. And the author of the music, as originally intended, was the talented Russian composer Sergei Ivanov.
🛑 The film was not funded by the city administration, was not participating in grants, and was not sponsored for publicity.

The film was shot on Sony A6300, Sony A7s, Sony A77v, Sony A65, Konica-Minolta Z3, Blackmagic Production Camera 4K EF, Panasonic GH5 and Xiaomi Mi Drone 4K.
