This place is unreal!
This time on my journey through India I am exploring Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, a city built along the sacred Ganges river. Varanasi also known as Kashi, or Benaras is a place of great mystery, famous for its burning Ghats (Manikarnika Ghat and Harishchandra Ghat) which are cremation grounds where people travel from all over India to die, be cremated and put into the Ganga, a Hindu ritual that will release them from samsara, the cycle of death and rebirth.
Varanasi is one of the oldest cities and according to Hindu mythology is 10,000 years old!
Also this video, I explore Sarnath a Buddhist Pilgrimage Site, and the place where Buddha taught his first Sermon, after gaining enlightenment. Here I visit lots of Buddhist temples before returning to Varanasi and taking a boat at sundown along the Ganges to Assi Ghat where I watch the Assi Ghat evening Arrti.
Varanasi was a very magical place and I would love to visit again
