Stress Belden lol they weren't "nothing but drug addicts" as their brilliant and still relevant music quite clearly proves

From 76-78 a lot of UK punk was still called "new wave" in the British press. Everything was kind of lumped in together. It's only after the fact that people began deciding which late 70's acts were new wave and which were punk rock.

And yet they tried to be new wave how ironic

Dean Appleby don’t think so, the pistols used shock tactics for their brief time , the clash gave us so much more

Dean Appleby rock the casbah was all about the west (including good old uk led by our puppet-masters USA) provoking, invading and generally stealing or “procuring” oil. Everything relates to oil, even now in 2019 with that rocket Trump having a poke at Iran, but anyway away from that pish I just loved the clash, their music, and seeing them live. I’m 55 now and still remember my first gig, I still play it all my old records, including the Pistols, as well as new stuff, music doesn’t stay still long, cheers for the conversation

The punk scene was all about shock tactics which is why the pistols were the best along with early undertones and buzzcocks, the clash we're just PC shouters with nothing to say, white riot an example of PC noncence leave punk to the pistols not the clash dumbassss
