One thing I didn't see, when you were testing the write speeds to the ssd/hdd/T7, how was the ZimaCube connected to your device? I see you are using a mac, so I assume over Thunderbolt 4, directly connected to the Cube? You didn't mention any other specifics on the network topology, are you running a 10gb internal network, or 2.5gb, 1gb, etc.? On paper, if you did the same test over the typical users home network, the HDD/SSD to the cube would be at the same speeds, right? Also, what AI are you using to bring your images to life in this video? Like, when it zoomed into the cube and showed a chip on board, I really liked that. That's a very unique style, good job. Also, what app are you using that zooms in and follows your mouse as you use it on video? I love that, looks very "tutorial" style like lol.

I suspect that this was a promotional device that was given to the video content creator to show the device in a good light. What I don't get is failing to use the hardware to at least a minimum amount of configuration and data protection in place. If this is a NAS ( Network Attached Storage ), then the proper use would be to install TWO hard drives in it instead of one, configured in a RAID of one form or another, likely a Mirror. The same would apply with the NVME drive- two drives minimum configured in a mirror. And an external device to back up the system on a periodic schedule. It's a waste of a $1000+ device to put in a single hard drive and a single NVME . May have as well used a $30 drive enclosure from Amazon instead. Anyone buying this device and using it in this manner is, well, not thinking anything thru.

I think the specialised redundancy is the reason why most people do the standard cloud model. Most businesses wouldn't archive a decent standard of data prevention and protection.

You're totally missing the point of cloud storage. Cloud storage is for a backup when your home network goes down/offline. You're just putting a server in your basement and calling it cloud storage.
@SilverSlayer23

Didn't see that in the Comptia test. The cloud is about on-demand availability of computer resources. Not the literal physical location of those resources. After all, the cloud and the entire internet is a collection of servers. Cloud storage is about being able to access your storage remotely over the internet. Something the private cloud continues to offer us IT professionals in our own homelabs.

Also, you seem to be totally missing the point of the private cloud. I never consented to pay a high reoccurring fee to give big tech the right to go through and delete my supposedly encrypted data. Or worse, use my intellectual property and data to train their AI, build their products, and sell. If you haven't noticed from KZitem, Big Tech currently is out of it's damn mind and getting significantly worse with no signs of slowing down.

@@HeyHugh...uhhh sorry my clear qualifications and experience makes you feel inadequate I guess? 🤷 I don't know what to tell you, but my job here is to correct the record. Not make you feel better for agreeing with the OP in not understanding the cloud. Logic of the video is fine despite the video creator having other bad takes. What isn't fine is not understanding what the cloud means, or is, and spouting ignorant shit on the Internet. Like inventing your own flawed definition and acting like that's a source of truth. Get the cert and learn something. Then understanding this comment thread and the logic of the video is not that hard afterwards. That's my best advice for your inadequate feelings surrounding my own comment. You would understand the "blabbing" then. ...Or don't listen to the people with years experience configuring, building, and maintaining this infrastructure and the Internet. 🤷
