Algorithm god sent you to me for Westworld videos and i have been here since. Even if i have no idea what your discussing i know i will by the end. I particularly love the character timeline when developing a character over a season, sometimes i just want a nibble and binging is daunting.

Praise be Cthulu KZitem God!! I'm not too up on the streaming stuff, but I'm all for moving away from binge dumps and giving us some time between episodes (Westworld/GoT overlap was prime for *theory time*). Looking forward to your analysis for Severance so I can parrot it at work and sound insightful.

Hax, thank you so much for this video - and all the others. I have started watching you when you did your coverage on "Westworld" (btw: which has been unreached until Shogun imho). Your vids are well structured, entertaining and really fun to watch. Keep on goin'. 😃

Yay! Hax is back! I’ve missed these theory crafting videos! Welcome back! Okay, wild theory on Moldaver - here me out. Something about the Ghoul being bought back from the grave at the beginning, and then introducing Moldaver as a character thas seemingly lived for 200 years without explanation feels like a classic Nolan misdirect. In Fallout 4, we find a reference on an Institute terminal that refers to a research proposal for cold fusion. To me that’s the biggest and first clue. Also Moldaver’s apparent lack of aging. We see her in 2277 and again in 2296, but there’s no significant difference in her appearance, not in the same way we see Hank age over 20 or so years. Moldaver reappears in 2277, the same year the synth Harkness escapes the Institute in Fallout 3, it aligns with the activation of key assets by the Institute. Timeline could be a little tight or I might have that wrong. We also see Miss Williams wearing glasses in the flashback. But as Moldaver she doesn’t. Siggi wears glasses, so surely they are still available post-war. As a synth would she need glasses? The residents of Vault 4 worship her as the ‘Flame Mother,’. But why worship someone who promises a new world, that world gets bombed, and… what? Let’s all worship “Flame Mother” out of mere thanks for her efforts? Or ongoing efforts? Would seem counter-intuitive given what they’ve suffered. A symbolic Phoenix-like rebirth seems more lkely. Rose Dies at Shady Sands but Moldaver seemingly walks away from “the ashes” unharmed. We also see through flashbacks of Miss Williams at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery, a site with resurrection connotations, again, reinforcing the idea of her being “reborn” multiple times. Take, for example, Hank’s line to Lucy: ‘I did what was necessary to save our people.’ On the surface, it seems he’s referring to the Vault dwellers, but could ‘our people’ mean something else? What if Hank was aware of Moldaver’s true nature as a synth, viewing her as an existential threat to humanity itself? A synth that has manipulated his wife, and now put his children at risk. Synths don't necessarily know they are Synhs though. Is it possible his actions were aimed at protecting humans from the influence of a synthetic being-a conflict that echoes the broader tension between humans and synths in Fallout lore.
