What a lovely bible! Dr. Arnold fruchtenbaum is an excellent biblical teacher. Using his materials this year has really helped me dig so much deeper into God's Holy word. Thank you so very much for your quality Bible reviews. Its enjoyable to hear you speak not only about the materials and quality of construct but more importantly what's inside. Currently taking seminary classes online and need all the resources available but being retired in Southeast Asia (Northeast Thailand to be exact) really makes it difficult on getting my hands on Bibles and other study aides and being old fashioned, I prefer holding and reading from a books verse the net, which i do use also. So when it's time to order a new study Bible I check out your review first. Living on SSI isn't a lot of money, Bibles and study aides are not cheap and shipping costs can be as high as 30%. I've been a believe since the age of 5, and sometimes an awesome study bible just helps to light a fire under me. I'm not Jewish at all, but I've been considering studying some of the ties for years. So, I'm not a new Christian but I am totally reaffirming myself and starting to read my Bible every day (which I barely ever used to do) and watch Messianic teachings on KZitem. I used to live in Israel for about a year roughly 10 years ago. I am very drawn to anything of Jewish origin and seeing how much greater depth Christians can go into by knowing about the Jewish customs of the Biblical days is something that has really moved me. Do you think this Bible would would be appropriate for me? I used to speak a bit of Hebrew, but not in the context of the Bible. Will this Bible have enough names/words in English (or in parentheses next to Hebrew words) to understand it? I want to love this Bible but I also want to be realistic about it.

This would be a great option for you and it is an easy to understand Bible. I really like this one. I bet that was so fascinating to live in Israel, I would love to visit there! That would be the trip of a lifetime to go and visit the Holy Land and see the Biblical places. That is so neat that you lived there! With what you have said I think this Bible would be perfect for you! They did a great job on it. They do offer it in other cover options as well. This is the only one out of all the ones I’ve reviewed and shown that my husband said he wanted one in genuine leather. He was very impressed with this one and he never gets as excited as me about different Bibles. Another one you may like is the TLV (Tree of Life Version) Bible. But this Study Bible is awesome! Definitely worth getting...if you get one please drop back by and let me know how you like it. Thank you for watching and taking the time to comment. I appreciate it. God bless you sister.

Bible Believing Christian Thank you so much for getting back to me, and so quickly too! I’ve been going through a lot of personal tribulations lately and money is pretty tight, but as soon as I have enough to buy this I am going to! And I will definitely report back and let you know what I think. Your overview of it was super helpful, and also shows what a beautiful bible it is; the cover is really pretty and works inside are really pretty, and definitely remind me of Israel! You should absolutely go one day. It’s kind of mind blowing and I definitely want to revisit again in a few years when, God Willing, I am able to save enough money and get my life back in order. I wish when I had seen it I had a full appreciation for it, but I was an angry teen lol. I also wanted to let you know, in case you wanted to add it to the info below this video, that if people want to check it out for themselves that the publisher of this Bible, Hendrickson, is offering a free PDF download of The Book of Mattityahu (Matthew) that they send to you by email, here is the link: www.hendrickson.bible/complete-jewish-study-bible/the-book-of-matthew

Naturally, I have this bible, too, but I never read it because the names bog me down. I dislike having to refer to the back of the book for the definitions, meanings, and translations. I find it very distracting. Other than that it’s a very informative bible. I do like the paper and the colors. Thanks for the review. Update: 11/21/21 I have definitely used this Bible more now, and the only thing that I dislike about it is the fact that there are so many Jewish/Hebrew words that have to be defined by looking up the glossary in the back. But the articles that are included in the Bible are very helpful, and I love the way they are divided up into different topics. The blue and the gold theme is very pretty, and I have learned to associate that bright blue color with Israel. This is not a great Bible for a beginner, but with someone who is interested in getting to understand the messianic aspect of the Bible, the Old Testament and how it ties into the New Testament, how the New Testament completes it, this is a Bible more geared for that aspect. The font is easy to read, The notes are easy to read, and everything is laid out for you in a very nice fashion. I bought the genuine leather edition and it’s just a beautiful book, nice leather, not too stiff, and well worth the $89. Thank you for your review, I’m glad I was able to update my original post.

Many of the ones I’ve shown have been gifted to people who cannot afford a Bible. Enjoyed your review. Thank you! One thing that I have noticed (I've only read the translation online so far) is that some of the Hebrew words replacing the more familiar English ones can be very difficult to know how to pronounce, and kind of bring the flow of one's reading to a sudden stop. I have even seen this occur in a group Bible study setting when different people were reading verses aloud. I realize the goal of this translation is, as it states, to bring out the 'Jewishness' of the Scriptures, but I think prospective buyers should at least be aware of this issue that I am mentioning. I also don't like it when certain people start to act like the Hebrew words = superior, but that's a different subject altogether.
@BibleBelievingChristian

Hop some words can be difficult to pronounce and it does make your reading come to a complete stop and that can be hard for people when reading aloud in a group setting. It’s a really neat Bible. 5 жыл бұрын
Hop I have not done a favorite translations video yet, I’ll have to add that one to my list. I tend to read the NKJV the most, it is poetic yet doesn’t have as much archaic language as the KJV. Although they all have some archaic language, sometimes I’ll be reading the ESV and find an archaic word and then I’ll check the verse in the KJV and it uses a more understandable word. I just can’t get enough of the Bible so I usually have 4-5 different translations on my night stand and I’ll switch between them but the NKJV tends to the the one I reach for the most and keep going back to.
@pnutbutrncrackers
5 жыл бұрын
@@BibleBelievingChristian Your love for the Scriptures is wonderful, and I wish it were more common. May God bless your spirit deeply through His Word. The NKJV is both my wife's and my son's favorite translation as well. I think mine is the original (1977) NASB, which I find I like better than the 1995 revision/update. I love its very high level of accuracy and translational choices (usually), but many find it too cumbersome and not readable enough. Others that I also like to consult are the KJV/NKJV, RSV, and the ESV -- so we're not too far apart. I just have never loved the NIV, but as you know some people do. As long as we're earnestly coming to learn from the Bible, that's the most important thing.
@BibleBelievingChristian
5 жыл бұрын
Hop Those are all great translations and I use all of those as well but the NKJV just speaks to me and I always find my way back to it. It will be interesting to see what the latest NASB update will bring. And I agree, as long as people are reading their Bibles that should be the most important part. The NIV is the one I have read the least out of them all. God bless you and your family.

I’ve given a few to new believers at their request but they found it harder to grasp it until they read a different translation first such as the NKJV, ESV, CSB etc. People that I know that have it found it easier once they were already familiar with the Bible so that’s why I no longer give it to someone who’s brand new to the Bible because from what I’ve seen it kinda throws them off. Paired with another translation it would probably be better. It’s a really neat Bible though. Thank you very much for watching and taking the time to comment. I appreciate it.

As always you did a fabulous job!! Did not personally care for the translation of Mark 15:39. This Bible stated he was a Son of God. I felt like the translator was bringing Christ down to a lower level of divinity and a more humanist view point. Anyone that is a male and has been born again is a Son of God. However, I will stay with the KJV and the ESV that states this man was The Son of God. Thus making a direct point this man came from God, He is Divine, He is King of King, Lord of Lords. Just a to bit water down for me.

υἱός (huios) is the greek word in question and the reality is "The" is not a part of it. A son or just son is the proper translation. In a Greek concordance number 5207. "A son of God" is actually a more accurate translation. The definite article for the word the in the Greek is not in the original passage of Mark 15:39. And In fairness it makes sense this was a Roman Centurion, a pagan. There is no reason to assume he would understand the concept of "The Son of God". The point wasn't that this man recognized the Messiah as the Son of God so much as he recognized the general Divinity of this man and they just killed on a cross. He wouldn't have know more. So in this specific case the CJB is more accurate then the other examples.

I HAVE THE REGULAR - CJB AND THE STUDY - CJSB. I LIKE THE LOOK OF THE BIBLE, CONSTRUCTED WELL. NICE STUDY NOTES. THE ONLY THINGS I WISH WERE DIFFRENT. I WISH THE VERSES WERE STRAIGHT TO THE LEFT DOWN THE PAGES IN STEAD OF MIXED WITHIN THE BODY. IM SURPRISED THE WORDS - HIM, HE ETC ARE NOT IN CAPS. I REALLY WISH THERE WERE AN AUDIO COMPLETE JEWISH BIBLE. THE TITLE JESUS WAS NOT USED. HIS NAME IS JEWISH. YASHUA OR AND YAHSHUA. YAHWEH. WE ARE ALL DIFFRENT IN OUR BELIEF EVEN THE JEWISH NATION. SHALOM

It is a very well made Bible, I think they did do a really good job on it. I don't think I have ever seen Jewish Audio Bible, that would be neat though. I think this one is a very unique Bible...Thank you for watching and taking the time to comment.

I really like the Jewish study bible by JPS. The Tanak with loads of notes. I’m kinda on the fence with this translation and how they worded some passages. But, I have a TLV version coming. Every branch of Christianity tends to change things in certain passages. Example, catholic bibles put more emphasis when Mary is mentioned, almost glorifying her as a god, while others downplay those verses. Finding out that Satan uses our copyright laws to push confusion even more. To make a new version, you have to reword things in order to pass it through copyright. That probably the single most problem with the United States and why there are so many versions and how they read, along with all those different Christian biases implemented into the translations. So, if you can’t read the original text language, we are at the mercy of translational errors and biases and have to read all translations to find the truth within. Really shouldn’t rely on mans interpretation either. God repeats and you can usually find out what is meant by that passage by finding a similar story or multiple passages elsewhere within the Bible that will tell you what is meant. Seen so many take a tiny verse and blow it up into this huge thing but read the whole chapter or book and wasn’t anything about what the priest/pastor/reverend where conveying.

I also believe that yes, most Christian publishers have made the Bible too gentile. Really need to preserve the original names.

Mr. B I agree with both of your comments. I also have the TLV as well, I haven’t reviewed it yet though but I am doing some Bible giveaways beginning this weekend and will be giving away one Jewish Study Bible just like this one. So make sure you’re subscribed so you don’t miss the announcements on the giveaway. There will be multiple Bibles all different ones.

Just an FYI that's actually not a true Jewish bible. It's a messianic followers bible that has some altered translations from the original hebrew. It is falsely labeled as Jewish when it is nothing of the sort, just a copy of what you call the Old Testament. If you want the true Jewish bible, get a Tanakh and a proper translation like the ones from Koren or Artscroll. Koren preferrably.

It’s not in Hebrew, but all bibles are true Jewish bibles because The Bible was written by Jews.
