Enjoying the series - nice to see some entries/details not in Wendigoon's one - keep it up. A few minor errors between them but nothing too bad, and that's bound to happen with something of this scope. A quick note on entropy - it actually has multiple definitions depending on the field or specific context, such as physics or cryptography. The one that people commonly refer to is 'the tendency for a given system to become more disorganized over time, typically due to the interactions of its component parts'. In other words, things fall apart. This isn't a perfect definition by any means but is functional in many cases. The analogy you gave with a pile of sand was pretty good. Another one might be an unkempt yard. Leave it be, and eventually it gets overgrown because the system in this case is a patch of earth, then maybe snakes start hiding there. It sort of defaults to chaos over time if it's not interfered with somehow - that's one basic form of entropy.

To the Codex Seraphinianus : When I was at art/designschool many years ago we had a task to create a small booklet. The booklet should have it's own alphabet. Own very different font and a handwriting very different from your own. It's own world. It's own everything. If it was believable you got a good grade - if not, bad grade. We had over a month for this project. It was amazing. Our teacher explained us that this is a very old exercise many creative people had to do to train their creativity and to train their understanding of art, to fully sink into your and others work and to fully understand it. Whenever I see books like (just like the voynich manuscript) that I just can't stop myself from thinking about this exercise and what future-people might think of it if they ever found it in a weird place, not knowing it was just a weird art-project.

For that north Korea bit, when I was in HS my history teacher showed us a documentary where doctors went to North Korea with the intention of fixing people's eyesight. When they unwrapped their bandages around their eyes, they immediately went to thank and praise Kim's picture in the room (I remember hearing that every room has to have a picture of him somewhere but idk). I wish I had the name of it so you could check it out but it's been a while since I watched it. It was weird seeing them not even looking at the doctors who fixed their eyesight but go running and kneeling towards a picture of their leader

Pastoral studies major, here ✋️. Hermeneutics was one of the first classes I was required to take at college. Definitely is an extremely important topic when interpreting the Bible. Unfortunately, many people do not properly apply hermeneutics and completely miss context with certain aspects of the Bible. A lot of things in it are actually really plain and not difficult to interpret when using the method properly. One peculiar thing is that many people who are very skilled in hermeneutics have very, very different interpretations of end times stuff in the Bible. Makes for a lot of interesting conversations with my colleagues.
@pedro1234567ify
Жыл бұрын
Any wild deviations from traditional interpretations that you came across, which you could mention? This is super fascinating
@xlrd98
Жыл бұрын
@@pedro1234567ifyThat's a really good question with a complicated answer, as it really depends what type of background one might have with the denomination they grew up with. For me specifically, I grew up as Pentecostal (I'm Reformed Baptist now). A big thing that Pentacostals emphasize is the gifts of the Holy Spirit, one of the gifts being the gift of tongues. Most pentecostals believe this gift is still present in the church today, and that it's an unintelligible language that you pray in (it sounds like gibberish if you hear it). Closer examination of the texts make it pretty clear that the gift of tongues was whe the Spirit gave to the Apostles to preach the Gospel to people in their native language with no prior knowledge of the language. I personally also believe the gift pf tongues ceased with the Apostles but that is a more complicated debate. Also while there are a few different views of the end times, the popular view held in America today is called Dispensationalism, and has only been a view for a few hundred years. While I could be swayed to a couple different positions on end times, I believe this one is a massive misinterpretation of apocalyptic literature found in the Bible.

The theory with tor is the browser was created by the government to help further conceal communication/hacking through the tor network, because only the government could use it, it would’ve made them identifiable but having more people use it makes it impossible to know by foreign governments. At least this is how I understand it, and it makes a lot of sense to do this. Along with this, it is thought that Silk Road was allowed to operate for so long as an enticement for a lot of people to download the tor browser, thus making it even easier for the US governments to spy, hack, investigate and hide their communications even more effectively..

Negative entropy will likely only work to an extent. Just like your battery capacity can’t go below zero percent. Another thing you were wrong saying it was lost energy. It was lost capacity no energy is lost to the battery. Also with some lipo batteries and probably others too you have to break them in and go through a few cycles to reach full capacity. Over time they do tend to degrade but in the beginning after a few charges it does have more capacity. The reason they lose capacity is due to they just break down. You can’t stop it and something that could gain more capacity is a technology way far away if it is even possible.
