Iris Usa made another version for the drop front window with a circle hole pull down but they stopped after covid. Not sure if they are coming back. I hope so cause all my boxes are like those and i want to keep it consistent.

I own these exact boxes (but in black out with clear lid, instead of clear all over), and I respectfully disagree with a lot of what you mentioned. 1) I think it's how you use the lid. I have only broken 1 lid and I have over 100 boxes stacked from floor to ceiling. The break was my own fault, it hit it with the stepping stool. Alternatively, some manufacturers make a magnetic drop front lid which cost more, but are slightly more durable, but as I said, I'm good with these lids, and I always open them with just one hand, no issues. Be gentle. 2) it's unfair to comment on these being difficult to move while you still have the shoes in them. I picked my sneaker room and set it all up, the boxes have not moved since. Set it and forget it, it works fine with the shallow lip. It's rare you should ever need to move them all stacked up like that, unless you're moving homes, not that often. 3) Sure, you could buy taller boxes so that you wouldn't have to put hightops sideways, but then you couldn't be as space efficient when stacking boxes. I find them to be the perfect height so that shoes fit perfectly and don't waste space. 15 boxes, floor to ceiling, no way I could do that if I put my hightops standing vertically, I prefer the more efficient storage. 4) I store my boxes indoors as they're designed to be. A swiffer duster once a month takes 4-5 minutes, no issues. My hands are pretty clean, no real fingerprint issues either. 5) this point I disagree with the MOST. The greatest benefit of this style of box is so that you can a) see your whole collection and easily decide what to wear. If they're still in boxes, it's hard to quickly visualize what it looks like when trying to match an outfit, so you need to take them out of the boxes and look through the clear door to better visualize your collection. Don't double box! b) you already mentioned it, these boxes allow you to open a lid and take out ANY pair in seconds. That would take so much more time and effort if you have to manage stacked shoe boxes, you would be too lazy to wear shoes stacked near the bottom simply due to effort! I think displaying your shoes are the secondary feature of these drop front boxes, the primary function is to easily allow you to see every single pair at a glance to more easily decide WHAT shoe to wear that day, then also to retrieve it quickly and easily is the MOST useful part about these boxes. Yes, you will have to store your shoe boxes, but I put them in the largest black garbage bags you can find, and put them in a corner in the basement out of the way, so if you ever have to trade or sell your sneakers one day, you still have the box. If I were to make a video like this, I would do the opposite...... Top 5 reasons why to invest in drop from boxes. Your format is good, editing is good, sold start, I liked the NB 997 comparison video. Very promising stuff, so I subscribed and turned on post notifications. But I had to speak up about this video content as I strongly disagreed with so much of what you said in this particular video. Keep learning, the videos and content will only get better, cheers.

Appreciate this comment bro . I don’t disagree with anything you said, although I’d like to make a few quick points! - I’m curious if the black boxes are any different in design/ quality compared to clear boxes? Considering they are relatively newer? They look sick too 🔥 - how gentle do you have to be for your boxes? I wouldn’t say I was reckless by any means, but at the same time, storage boxes are meant to be moved around/altered/modified/etc, and my hope was that these boxes would be able to withstand normal stresses like just moving, than I put them through, which imo shouldn’t be too much to ask - metal magnetic lid sounds like a GREAT idea, haven’t seen it personally but I can imagine that’s a much better alternative to the plastic clip Again, I don’t absolutely hate these boxes by any means. this video was intended to speak only MY personal negative experiences and viewpoints after having these boxes for some time. Everybody will have their own situations and needs, and so my hope is that with this video, your constructive comment, and whatever other research is available, that the viewer/potential consumer use these reviews to come up with their own sound decision whether or not to buy. Because after all, sneakers are already an expensive hobby enough , let alone the need to spend more on storage mediums. Thanks again for the constructive feedback! Love to keep these discussions going , and thanks for your contributions 🙏🙏🙏

You can seperate the layers with thin wood pieces from Lowes or cheap foamboard from Dollar Tree. You're right, often stacking not-so-sturdy boxes with more weight calls for a sturdy/srtaight layer of support.

Some of the magnetic boxes I’ve seen are sleeker, and probably better quality with the lid mechanism compared to these. Its a toss up because these boxes look nice and make it convenient to wear your kicks, but like you said, but it takes up even more space. Totally agree on these points! Broke a couple of my front lids already because of too much weight causing the handle on the lid to break. Think I have the same brand as you and these are cheaply made. There are better quality ones out there, but the price is also a lot more. I do get my hi-tops to fit upright though, just takes a little extra time & effort.

@kickitwithdang

Fair enough👍 Yeah I can see how some of my points are nitpicking, but when you’re paying this amount for these boxes, you’d want close to perfection lol. After all, it really adds up in costs the more your collection grows and the more clips you break. Thanks for your opinion and feedback!
