I can focus my eyes in a specific way that makes me able to recognize patterns in anything. I recently saw a bear outline in some tree leaves with this method. Even after when looking at the trees normally the pattern is still there. It gives me a headache though. Using the same method I can also focus on a pattern and put the pattern on top of my whole field of view like a seamless texture. Not sure if this is related to pattern recognition or just a weird skill. I can also somewhat hallucinate on command. When looking at high frequency visual information I can make it move in squiggly patterns.

that sounds fascinating! do you also see fractals? if you are very strong in visualization, have you tried techniques such as memory palace to enhance your recall?

@@OMThinking I think I see fractals when I do the pattern thing (especially with high frequency visual information) but they don't look very detailed. I can't really look at the fractals since that breaks it. Haven't tried other techniques yet, but memory palace looks interesting, I'm going to try it now.

Asch Conformity effect. A reminder of the greatest diver of cognitive bias. The need to belong.

Indeed! Communal needs are a core factor contributing to our sense of safety that many sacrifice individual growth just to fit in, yet it is challenging to disregard this completely. I think this dissonance is one reason why it's harder to find happy, contented people as the world becomes increasingly connected.

Do you find it easy to spot patterns? 😎

Patterns and process sequences and morespecifically pattern breaks jump out for me from everything like behaviors or datasets.
