There is so many better options in this price range !

Jody does say that it's pricier than it should be. Water resistance for a watch like this completely irrelevant. Better is also subjective. Having said that I would never get one, even when it looks great. I feel like they've cut corners in the wrong places like the pushers and leather strap as jody mentioned. I've been seeing this company for a while, have always felt the same, too much packaging for a small package. Having said that if I received it as a gift I would love it and wear it all the time.. so don't hate it at all.

But since I own a couple of Mechaquartz watches I'm kinda disappointed from this corniche. I recently purchased a "Reef Tiger" Hommage of the Speedmaster (grey side of...) and it's a stunning watch. The quality is super sweet and it has the same layout as the corniche (incl. the Mechaquartz movement). Only difference is that I payed a fracture of the corniche... Whatsoever, keep it up, Jody! Corniche have been on my radar for a while. I like the pieces on offer, a no brainer meca-quartz movement, sapphire crystal, well presented. Bremont, English company with a link to France? A nice watch and one that has come on my radar before. But when you compare it to the Dan Henry or even the Straton range, the price feels just too high for me. Yes, the Straton watches can be expensive for VK64 but the build quality is always peerless (and also conceded that Straton might be looking at a different point in the market). Also, I picked up a Tissot PRC200 on an Amazon special for $325 a couple of months ago - that's much more like it I think? (Swiss made, some fancy packaging and on the leather strap still dressy enough for most).

Nice finishing but as we say south of The Wall, "all mouth and no trousers" (or as our American cousins would say, "all show and no go"). The price is silly for something with zero brand recognition. I have a chronograph with a vk63 (with a running second hand at the 6 o'clock) in it, I wish Seiko would reconfigure so that the 24 hour sub dial did something else, basically useless. Thanks for the review Jody, but I do not see the value at all. You can get a Seiko Mecha Quartz, Dan Henry, Undone and I know there are many more that are similar for much much less money. Not your fault they charge so much. It's really nothing special. Water-resistance you would think would be far better for so much money. Even the Seiko one I have is 100 meters plus a really good lume.I guess this is a preference but I have to have a date or I will forget what the date is. I also like having a second hand. I do appreciate your honest reviews of watches. You tell it like it is.
