My non-pro tip: I like to hold onto silica drying pouches from boxed items and packaging. I put those drying pouches into my lure and hook boxes to absorb moisture in the hopes of preventing rust. These pouches say, "DO NOT EAT." They DON'T say, "DO NOT REUSE." So, REUSE THEM! 👍🏻🙌🏻🎣

🍺Thanks Matt. Plano edge everything for me. I have no complaints other then the Plano line box. It doesn’t hold enough of the larger spools I prefer to purchase. Everything else they offer works very well for me.🤠

To me, the test is when you are on the water and something comes to mind to try, if you don’t try it because it’s too inconvenient to get to, your system still needs refinement. If you can switch to whatever baits and tackle needed for an adjustment, your system work. (Im still working on mine. 🤷🏻♂️)

Matt. The system I settled in on is one that works for me and never exposes my bulk storage to inclement weather. I store all of my bulk terminal tackle in the larger Plano edge box, separated in individual compartments according to hook style, size, sinker size, etc. But then I have a small day box that hardly takes up any space that I might keep 2 of the size hooks and or sinkers that I think I may need for the day. That way, if I do have to replace something and the weather is raining or such, my "bulk" storage is never exposed to the weather. I do the same thing for my swim bait heads, shakey heads, and neds. So I have like 4 little "day" boxes that hardly take up any space. Most days you know pretty much what you intend to throw. As long as you make sure you have at least one replacement in the respective "day" box, you never expose your bulk storage to the weather. Plus the plano edge boxes come with one divider that has the Z-Rust feature, that will take care of any "humidity" issues. Yea, those boxes are a bit pricey, but not nearly as pricey as replacing "rusted" tackle.

Hey Matt: I'm a kayak angler so my terminal tackle storage has to be minimized not just organized. I put each size of tungsten weight separately labeled in those mini ziplocs you showed. But I do the same for hooks. Then I put each hook style's mini ziplocs into labeled medium ziplocs, all of which can flat stack in a zippered lunch bag 10×8 × 4" deep. Dollarama version is $3; Buzbe charges $33. The key on a kayak is not to store air. So rigid plastic trays are out.

My hook box is similar to yours with a slight organizational difference. I either leave the hooks in the original soft packet or transfer them into a small jewelry size zip lock bags - or empty soft packets from other companies. Often I’ll cut the info card down and stick it in the zip bag with the hooks so I’ll know what it was, otherwise I’ll stick on a cut down mailing label and write on the size/type. That’s where my difference in organization starts. Each little section is filled by the same hook size but different types. #2 up to 6/0. So, for example if I want a 3/0 regardless of type it’s in the same place. Then I just leaf through little bags of offset heavy, ewg, light, straight heavy, flip, light, long, weed guard, trailer, etc., etc. Usually the types by size are in the same order. Also, nothing but hooks in my hook box. Each other terminal tackle is in its own box. I love those little Plano 3449 boxes for tiny stuff like bobber stoppers, swivels, hitchhikers, snaps, split rings, toothpicks, beads, etc. My sinkers (weights) box is just like my hooks, just sinkers, by size, in little jewelry bags labeled by size/type, eg. bullet, egg, split, etc., and material: lead, tungsten, brass, steel (by colors too). Yep, if I was really any good I wouldn’t need 40 zillion variations and combinations. LOL. But it is easy to just pull a little packet of hooks and sinkers out of the big boxes and keep them handy if that’s all I’m using.

As a bank fisherman i store the baits and hooks i need in poly bags from walmart.the small poly bags are good for hooks ,sinkers and jigheads and snack and sandwich bags are good for soft plastics. I then place in freezer bags .quart size is good for terminal tackle and finnesse baits and gallon is good for larger worms and soft jerkbaits. I place what i need into a 5 gallon bucket with lid .that way i can "Bill Dance " it when i get tierd or need to change lures

If you like storing your tungsten or lead weights ( or swivel/ snap or hooks) unpacked you can get yourself a RAACO box. (Assorter 6-5 or 4). These boxes have fixxed dividers in several layouts and cost you halve or less than a comparable size PLANO/ FLAMBEAU or BASS MAFFIA. Add a small piece of foam if you dont like the rattling/ bouncing around of the content.

Great video!!! Normally I store my terminal tackle by technique. Always looking for a better and more effect way to store tackle. Question: May have missed this if you put out a video on it but on your soft plastics: Do you keep them the original package and put in a bag like the Googan Money Bag? Stay Safe & God Bless!!!!

New PB yesterday morning, 10.2! I need a new accurate digital scale, any recommendations? Someone already mentioned the Rapala touch screen digital scale?Testing my current cheaper Rapala digital, it keeps coming 1.2 lbs light on everything I test. So my fish may have been 11.4!? Can't say that absolutely though. Need a new better scale! She was 26.25" long & 17" in girth. Took forever to reel in. She was fighting & pulling my kayak really hard!

@@MattStefanFishing thanks I'm still stoked about that catch! Im having a replica done of that one. I'll check out that scale! I need a good/ accurate one! I've had an exceptional summer fishing big swimbaits & big worms. That 10.2 Friday plus 9.3 - 8.6 - 8.05 - 7.4 - 6.1 - 5.8 in past 2-3 months. Their were probably all 1.2 lbs heavier with my scale being off!? I found some good hard to get spots with the kayak!
