Those ‘85 Patriots were a fun team to watch and I found myself rooting for them. They just kept winning, one upset victory after another - until they got to the Super Bowl. But you just knew then that their luck would run out in NOLA against the ‘85 Bears.

They were running the ball at will in their three playoff wins, but didn't even attempt to do so against Chicago. They came into the game scared. If nothing else, I would have loved to seen them TRY to run it, eat the clock, and make it a lower possession game.

Drama seemed to find the Patriots between the late 1970's through the early 1990's.

Not gonna lie, taking "approximate time to bed" as "hard curfew" is a massive, Office Space level of a jump to conclusions. Everyone but the leakers handled it like a normal person would.

Tony Collins and Craig James were killing it on the ground in ‘85. If they would have spread out that Bears D like Miami did, they would have had a chance to stay in that game. It didn’t help that the D keyed in ONLY on Sweetness. Five to seven guys would flow to Sweetness on every play action, it was outrageous.

The '85 Patriots were also responsible for the cringiest jinx in Super Bowl history: That video that trash talked the Chicago Bears in their answer to the Super Bowl Shuffle prior to Super Bowl XX. NEW ENGLAND! THE PATRIOTS AND WE! Singing about how they were gonna bury the greatest defense in pro football history by giving them even more of a reason to blow them off the field. I for one would really love to get the story behind this really, really, really, really bad no-good terrible idea.

Greatest defense up to that point. The 85 bears are very overrated the 86 giants were better and as far as defenses go neither can compete with the 2000 ravens.

The 85 Patriots were fun to watch: Craig James & Tony Collins on the ground, Irving Fryar & Stanley Morgan in the air, barefoot Tony Franklin kicking. And (as of when I post this comment) Raymond Berry is still alive at 90.

The way Berry treated Doug Flutie, who *won* and was clearly their best QB at that time (late '80s), was not acceptable. He never was a head coach after that, was he?

Probably made the back page of the boston sports pages like all pats stories in the sullivan era did as pats were about to make their unlikely first s b run that season. And these are the same clowns that decided to talk some s#it about bears d prior to s b xx then promptly got their asses handed to them by that same bear d in a s b route unlike any other. That is until elway and broncos got their asses handed to them by niners a few years later in s b xxiv.

The New England PATRIOTS have ALWAYS been BELOW a 39.6 when the coaches play HONEST football. They should SERIOUSLY CONSIDER having Mac Jones SPIKE the football into the ground on EVERY single OFFENSIVE play!!!!
